Re: The Magic Number Thread

Franchise FC
LUX Looking forward to this evening’s games.

Who have Burton and Cheltenham got ?
Does it affect our magic number ?

The magic number is currently 0 so, no, their games won't change it.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

After last night’s matches the Royals drop a place to 8th. Next match is the penultimate regular season match on Monday 22nd April when we travel to play Nottingham Forest at the Nigel Doughty Academy training centre in West Bridgford Nottingham KO 7pm For some context, Forest are 16th in the table...

Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Given the last few years I'm not sure we should really be lolling at clubs with batshit mental owners seemingly intent on screwing the club into the ground. That said, £3 billion? Just how could a stadium cost that much unless you're using it for money laundering purposes? Tottenham's stadium cost ...

Re: Rival Watch

With rival watch this season pretty much over, I wonder who will be our main rivals next season. I'm not expecting any teams to be as strong as this year's top 3, but I think there will be plenty in the mix. 2 of the 3 coming down will be teams who were competition in the Championship, while Rother...

Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Birmingham City getting relegated after sacking Eustace for Rooney would be objectively hilarious. They spent ages fighting their previous owner like we have with Dai, but it could their new ambitious US ones who finally take them down with one of the worst ever managerial decisions. they also anno...

Re: Who do we want to play next season?

under the tin
Ark Royal Definitely up for a schlepp to Barrow. I was also at that game in 72 at EP when vouchers were issued for the Arsenal cup game. 52 years ago. Yikes.

So was I, AR. Over 11000 came for that voucher.

Was the term "plastic" or "gloryhunter" or a 70s equivalent a thing then?

Re: New owners' top 5 priorities

Pretty much, except I'd replace 5 with "assurance that Cat 1 Academy status will be supported for the forseeable".

BTW I thought Compass had already quit this "appalling" club themselves.

LOLiverpool chocking again Liverp   l, the Rangers of the Premier League. 8) The worry for many is that the great Liverpool side of 3/4 years might not be far off. That side would appear to really be missing Mane and Liverpool's failure to replace him has left them where they are now, but...

Only if we make a late payment for something. There's basically max one bill left to pay before the end of the season and the prospective owners have put money into the club secured against Bearwood to pay the bills. I think the season officially ends 30th June which is when the suspended points ch...

Looking forward to the 2024-25 season

Well now the club are mathematically safe from the drop what are your hopes for next season. ⋅ No Dai (and Pang) any more ⋅ New communicative owners who actually talk to people at all levels ⋅ Retaining the likes of Savage, Azeez, Elliott, Wing, Knibbs, Wifi and Bindon ...

Re: The Magic Number Thread

I'm amazed people still don't get it. Well it took the BBC the best part of an hour to cotton on and that's with Ady having access to social media during and after the game and even then I wasn't convinced that Dim understood  So to make it clear to everyone, one last time. Reading cannot be ...

Whatever the question is at United ETH isn't the answer. down to the 5th & 6th choice CB's, no fit LB for most of the season. He tried to sell three players in the summer, who as a result of injury, have had to be starters (Mctoninary, Maguire etc). Often been without a recognised striker for s...

rabidbee Presumably when Ejaria’s contract was paid up there would also have been an agent’s fee?

Probably - and also when extending/renewing an agreement with an existing player too!

rabidbee Ooh, Bracknell now only outside the playoffs on GD. COYR

Unlikely to dislodge Merthyr though as the Welsh have a game in hand, to go along with their vastly superior GD, and next week Bracknell have to take their less than spectacular away record to play the champions Chesham.

Re: The Non - League thread

Torquay docked another point for fielding an ineligible player. The Weymouth v Yeovil match abandoned after a medical emergency in the crowd will not be replayed and Weymouth ( leading 1-0) are given the win. I suppose that's because Yeovil are already promoted and Weymouth won't care as they're th...

Re: Away followings

Looking at the top three, it would not be surprising if all of those are playing in the Championship next year so, depending on who comes down, we could well be even higher placed. I expect we'd put up a better showing than Rotherham. Sheff Wed and Brum would likely do better, but some of the other...
