Re: Jake Cooper - New Contract

Always a good move getting our promising youngsters signed up to long term contracts, hopefully see a few others in the first team get new contracts in the near future.

Re: Middlesbrough BFTG

tidus_mi2 One of the weird things, I watched the highlights and at the fulltime whistle Reading fans were singing "EIEIEIO, up the football league we go", I didn't hear it at all at the match!

This was sung a couple of times, surprised it didn't carry as it did get going quite well at one point.

Re: Middlesbrough BFTG

Did anyone else hear any goal music when Blackman's scored? The chant in Y26 & Y25 was so loud and continuous when it went in I couldn't hear any being played, thought it was great.

Re: Reading FC - this is embarrasing

Thought came into my head last night, I actually feel a bit bad for Sasima in this whole situation, she clearly cares about the club and wanted to share something with the fans. If it was me in her shoes I'd feel quite horrified to have the song go viral in a country that's still new to me and thous...

Re: Reading FC - this is embarrasing

Might be cheesy but at least its a song far better than "we are going up" after only 10 games. If it generates noise in the stadium great better than the Morgue of a stadium at the moment. We have to be the quietest home crowd in the division. Definitely wouldn't say we're the loudest but...

We already have a right footed left winger in Hurtado, would rather get an actual left footed winger in as back up on loan, if it was my choice anyway

Re: Should we be signing a new goalkeeper

Who is third choice? If they are nowhere near possible first team action then yes, we should sign a new goalkeeper. Stuart Moore. On Monday, he punched a cross into his own net. Good shot stopper but terrible handling. I said it in jest in another thread, but we should get Dan Lincoln back. Was it ...

Re: BFTG Portsmouth Away 25/08/15

Well it certainly wasn't pretty.. Portsmouth were all over us for the first 60 mins, while Cox was on the pitch we lost all shape going forward, he can't be used as the lone striker, he's simply not tall/strong enough and his control leaves a lot to be desired. He's best used floating behind the str...

Thought he was more of an attacking mid than a striker? Someone to play off Sa perhaps?

Re: Portsmouth Away Tuesday 25th August

Although the ticket pricing is fantastic, 2000 for a midweek game that's around a 2 hr drive in rush hour straight from work.. I think anything over 1500 is very good from us anyway. It depends what time you finish work. Not everyone finishes at 5pm. I'm on a day off that day, so I could probably d...

Re: Portsmouth Away Tuesday 25th August

Just bought my ticket, bloke said we've sold around 1200 and we're requesting more as they're expecting demand for atleast a couple 100 more. Initial allocation was 1,400 I think, and I'd be surprised if we don't sell all of those. Can't remember myself, but he said they expect us to sell a couple ...

Re: Colchester (A) Prediction thread

Ian Royal When was the last time we had a convincing penalty taker?

Harte? Then Long, Kitson and maybe Shorey... Oh for someone with the skills of them or Morley and Caskey in the side.

Say what you like about Blackman but he is a very good penalty taker in fairness to him.

Re: RUMOUR - Robert Beric

The pros and cons of Pog have been argued time and time again, don't get me wrong - I like him and think he's a good player, but his wages are a problem. It's a simple case of does his end product justify being the highest paid player at the club? Easy answer - no. Happy to have him around though, w...

Re: RUMOUR - Robert Beric

I think it'll provide more breathing room in order to send youngsters out on loan (Kuhl being the best example), whereas we couldn't afford to last season in case they were needed for emergency cover. If we were able I think we'd move on a select few - HRK, Pog and Akpan being the main priority, but...

Re: RUMOUR - Robert Beric

Agreed. Think the business that has been done this summer has been very efficient, low-key and under the radar which is always best, strengthened areas that were weak and freshened up the squad. It could be the best transfer window we've had in years, with Hurtado and Fernandes seemingly all but con...
