Re: Rumour - Ben Heneghan

There's a difference in "having no money" and "not being able to spend". One is directly affiliated with being broke, the other isn't The key is that the owner's money and the club's money are not the same thing. If the club had money we could spend it. What we can't do is be gi...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

you can't think of a current manager/club_legend who scored the winner in a CL cup final. Notably started tenure incredibly well and finished it equally shite! Assume you meant Solskjaer, but I didn't think he'd really used up any 'slack' yet, given the mess United were in when he took over. If he ...

Re: Fixtures for 2019/2020

Get the overground from London Bridge to Charlton, that's just round the corner from the Valley I think that is how I did it last time. Last time I did Reading -> Padders -> Tube to Waterloo -> short walk to Waterloo East -> Charlton. Not too bad. Last time I went there was the 2-1 League Cup loss,...

Re: Rumour - Liam Kelly

Any news on when our Liam Kelly is on the move? Was hoping he’d be the next out the door Not sure but it does seem that he's been cut adrift a bit from the rest of the squid. Unless we can find more midfielders, we could learn to regret that with a current first team midfield selection of: Rinomhot...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Very much this. I think he may be able to do a job but people seem to be overhyping him with insufficient evidence that he actually is an adequate Championship striker. Unless we keep Bodvarsson/Baldock/McNulty, relying on Nova, Loader and even Nelson if we somehow get him back would be really risk...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

I agree on him being a cheaper option, but 9 in 27 (+2) in the Eredivisie is hardly prolific - joint 26th top scorer in the league and 52nd for goals per 90 (min 10 games). 1.8 shots per 90 also suggests a very different style of play to Oliveira, who averages over double that across his career. Pu...

Re: Fixtures for 2019/2020

How long does it take to go one side of London t'other? I only really do one easy route through, major station to major station? I live in Putney, not far from Craven Cottage in SW London. Takes me about 70 minutes to get to the vicinity of the Olympic Stadium in East London. Think it would take ab...

Yep, deeply unimpressed with what I saw of Elphick. Very much a case of the grass must be greener from some of our fans. See it all the time with the likes of Popa, Sims etc.... they must be better than who is playing, until they get a run of games that is.

Re: Rumour - Ben Heneghan

No it isn’t the same thing. But as it was explained to you previously and you didn’t get it there is no point explaining it again. No, I got it, I disagreed with it. We can't spend until we've cut cost / increased income. Broke. There's a difference in "having no money" and "not bein...

Re: Rumour - Ben Heneghan

Just on a point of detail. We’re not broke. We could go and break our transfer record tomorrow, and then do it again the next day. We’re trying to remain within the FFP rules but that is not the same as being broke. Our outgoings dramatically outweigh our incomings, we're broke, our owners aren't b...

Re: Rumour - Ben Heneghan

Looks to have the hallmarks of a good signing. Shouldn't be hard to compete with Hibs either, even though we're broke. Similar sized Northern clubs may have an advantage if he doesn't want to uproot family or get homesick though. Just on a point of detail. We’re not broke. We could go and break our...

Why dont you marry him so you meanie. Would have benefited from position, though that was easy to find out from the links. Felt it was missing quite a lot of detail tbh. Didn’t see any mention of what pizza toppings he likes. How are we supposed to get by without crucial information like tha...
