Re: Hard to see any progress for the forseeable future

There's some serious goalpost moving going on. The main idea of the original post was that we'd be mid-table at best and watching Reading was going to be very dull. Since then we've won 6-0 and 4-0 and drawn 2-2 away. We're third. Call it what you like, but it's not mid-table and it's not dull. It ...

Re: Hard to see any progress for the forseeable future

I can't believe some of the people moaning. 5th in the table after a mixed start just shows how poor the standard in the league is. The side hasn't been settled yet and Coppell is still trying to piece together his best eleven. The away form will come, people expect too much, too soon. The season is...

Re: Where will Reading Finish?

Do you ever stop to consider that teams in the Championship don't have top quality strikers or midfielders? Using last seasons scores as some sort of evidence to suggest the side will struggle this season is frankly bollocks. Do you ever stop to consider that the same players might not be as motiva...

Re: Where will Reading Finish?

Too many scaremongers who don't really have a clue. Compare the squad with other squads in this league (not just 1 or 2 big signings) and Reading have the second best, if not the best squad in the league. Sure, theres a few problem areas but look no worse than any other sides. Coppell is proven in t...

Haven't Pompey got the smallest ground in the Premiership?

Re: Little joining Pompey

Not concerned an injury prone has been has gone, just concerned he won't be replaced and we'll have to watch a full back at right wing or a left winger there.

Re: NEW CHELSEA MANAGER ANNOUNCED

He's a good manager, although as Grant showed that isn't good enough for Chelsea. You have to be the best of the best. Play superb football and win thing otherwise you'll be sacked. Scolari turned England down because he couldn't handle the media attention. They'll be even more attention and pressur...

Re: NEW CHELSEA MANAGER ANNOUNCED

Theres a real lack of quality managers available so it's no surprise Chelsea have gone for Scolari.

Re: Lampard to Inter

I'm talking about freedom in terms of the way their respective sides play. Mourinho doesn't let his players express themselves in a way that Ferguson does. That makes it harder for players to change because they have to fit into a specific system and can't try new things.

Re: Lampard to Inter

They had more freedom though and are both technically superb players.

I'd be happy for him to go because it will prove to everyone who gives him stick that he's actually a very good midfielder.

If he was going to a club that wasn't managed by Mourinho you may have a point.

Re: Lampard to Inter

Not really when you consider Mourinho is the manager and he'd be signing Lampard so he could do exactly what he did for him at Chelsea. Playing in a different league, with a different style and both with and against different players will give him a great opportunity to learn. He's almost 30 now. H...

Re: Lampard to Inter

It wouldn't improve him as a player because Mourinho would be signing him so he could play exactly like he does for Chelsea.

Chelsea will probably move for Gerrard, who since declaring he wanted to leave to win things in June 2005 has only won the FA Cup in 3 years.

Re: RUMOUR - Bristol City to Bid £2m for Lita

The good thing is Hull City and Stoke City will be desperate for new players and they have big money to spend. I'd imagine both of them will offer stupid money to make sure they can at least compete.
