Re: How do football supporters travel to football games?

No option for helicopter, which is for some a preferred travel option, particularly if they own the club.

Interesting to see how many get the Ferry and/or Tram to home or away games.

Maybe those who support Southampton or Portsmouth who live on the Isle of Wight.

Arsenal fans still living in Woolwich
Nah, they just watch it on TV

Re: Value the Squad

It's tough, as players like Obita may not come back the excellent player he was, but to replace him, would take a good wad of cash. That's assuming 1. We don't have the next Obita v2 ready to break through from the academy (just as Obita v1 did). 2. We actually need to replace a player who hasn't f...

Sutekh Sad for the way it's ended for Gunter and Bod.
It's not over until it's over, much like when Tommy Burns was trying to get rid of Phil Parkinson, who ultimately turned down a move to Wycombe to stay at Reading.

Re: Reading's ground staff salary

Great. Reading is offering jobs as ground staff at the club for 8.21 per hour. It's barely the minimum wage and is, frankly, a disgrace. Get unionised guys this is a club that does not have your interests at heart. I imagine these are junior roles which involve little more than just sticking a fork...

Re: New sponsor

When we were sponsored by Carabao and we made a new signing they used to set up some Carabao cans as a teaser and in the publicity shots. Wonder what we'll get with Casumo - A pile of those tiny pens you only see in the bookies perhaps? A roulette wheel with the player using it to select their squa...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

Is there anything in FFP that prevents a club from having a gofundme type page that collects no strings attached donations towards it's running costs? - Would that not count as a revenue stream? I can understand the idea of wanting clubs to stand on their own two feet and not rely on loans injection...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

2 world wars, 1 world cup For a club like us that hasn't really spent much,
I think the club have spent alot without shouting about it, mostly because the players/other things they've spent it on are nothing worth shouting about/waste of money.

Re: New Goalie Confirmed

Unfortunately early rumours are that he's a little indecisive. https://i.ibb.co/7NDpT8f/trump-rfc-goalie.jpg This could work, most players will want to shoot the ball as hard as possible at him rather than past him and he'll no doubt draw a number of fouls. If we lose games, it will not affect our ...

From Anything Else - One to watch in future seasons
Ark Royal Exeter City 4 (Jepson 2, Ross 2) Reading 6 (Lovell 2, Quinn 2, Taylor 2). Only game in Football League history where five different players each scored two goals.

Re: Mark Bowen as DoF

I dunno, Hughes was good for a short while when he played in-behind Forster. Very handy stop gap utility player when our options were otherwise limited too. More than adequate at left back too. IIRC we had injuries at left back and Hughes stepped forward, said he had experience playing there and di...

Re: Are we screwed?

Honestly think they should make a new rule with "X" amount of academy players in the squad, and making it a reasonable amount. This should stop the ridiculous amount of foreign players (Chelsea Arsenal Europe league final anyone :| ) and could hopefully ease money problems if the money ca...

Re: CONFIRMED: Novakovich to stay on loan nxt season, this time at Fotuna Sittard

If all scouting was done based on a just watching goals scored on YouTube videos .... we'd have a team of Mass Sarrs. For those too young to remember, The story goes that the Reading manager back in Tommy Burns signed a player called Mass Sarr based solely on a highlights video his agent had put to...

Re: CONFIRMED: Novakovich to stay on loan nxt season, this time at Fotuna Sittard

Wish everyone would stop spunking themselves over Nova without really seeing him. Most of his goals were tap ins and penalties in a horrifically mediocre league. Four penalties out of 22, the rest decent efforts or poachers goals. I don't see anyone on here slagging off Harry Kane's two goals again...
