Re: Beckham Retires

Also of his generation he will be the only England player to go down as an all time great. Alan Shearer is only 4 years older than Beckham I would but him in the 'Golden' Owen/Gerrard/Ferdinand etc generation, Shearer retired as these guys were coming through. And out of that bunch he is the only o...

Re: Beckham Retires

Why does it supposedly count against Becks that he wasn't great at some things? In his prime he was the best at what he did, and worked very hard to keep himself at that level. Football needs more pros like him, instead of the cockend 'gifted' types who have lots of natural ability but an awful atti...

Re: f365 steal: Top 10 Overcapped England Players

You're questioning Beckham's England career? Seriously?

I always thought Batty and Ince were a good midfield pairing, very hard working and committed. Maybe not the most talented as such, but certainly a good pairing at the time.

Unfortunately my dream of a comedy end to the season has been left in tatters, with Phil Brown taking the Southend job.

Ridiculous decision. Too late for anyone coming in to do anything, and Brian would do a good job next year no doubt.

Re: The 2012/2013 Champions League Thread

Every game, every incident is different. To me common sense and subjectivity is much more important. And TBF the rules can't really be applied objectively, they are too vague.

Re: The 2012/2013 Champions League Thread

But people do get sent off for going full blooded into 50-50s these days, and every time it happens in a high profile game, there is the same outcry from people who haven't learned. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I agree with the rule changes which take this element of contest and physicality o...

Re: The 2012/2013 Champions League Thread

Trying to control the ball at chest height when you're flying through the air at pace towards another player is definitely dangerous play, yes. But then surely any 50/50 tackle is dangerous play, if you are going into a full blooded challenge? Football is a contact sport, things like tonight will h...

Re: The 2012/2013 Champions League Thread

Genuinely amazed how many of you think it's a sending off. There was no way it was violent conduct, a high foot absolutely, but there was absolutely no intent to injure Arbeloa (?) Intent has nothing to do with it. Dangerous play = red. Rules have changed in the last 5 years or so. So trying to con...

VictorDMor And the question still remains: Is Jimmy Kébé the greatest man that ever lived?

There is no question. It's an undisputable fact.
