Loafer Seeing more kids with Saudi cr7 and inter miami Messi shirts

I recently saw a kid with a Ronaldo one, and thought it was a bit sad really. It shows that the sportswashing effort from SA is working.

Re: Where does Carroll rank in worst ever signings?

I thought Mihailov was pretty decent in the games he actually played. The problem was just that he didn't seem to want to play that often.

Re: BFTG Stevenage

Holmes and McIntyre feel like defensive midfielders who ended up as centre backs by accident.

Re: BFTG Stevenage

My feet are firmly on the ground regards expectations. I’m just enjoying young hungry players wanting to wear the shirt and Selles trying to give us an identity. If we can win more games than we lose and the players give their all I’ll be happy. Similar here. For me the main achievement this season...

Re: Where does Carroll rank in worst ever signings?

My stand out memory of Brayson was when someone in the midfield launched a long pass through for him to run on to, and despite having a couple of seconds to watch the ball and time his run, he managed to run in front of the ball so that it hit him in the back and bounced back off in the wrong direct...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

I'm going for letting in an early goal, then doing reasonably well for the rest of the game without actually creating many good chances, and then letting in another one at the end. One of those games which could be either "the rot continues" or "encouraging signs" depending on yo...

Better get as many of those as possible on trial signed up with a contract before the next embargo lands.

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

It's a bit ironic that the stadium isn't on there as one of the iconic buildings of the city (unless I'm being a bit blind and have missed it). It actually looks a bit better in the official photos than it looked in the leak. I'd have preferred proper hoops on the back and maybe a normal hoop on the...

The blue on that Arsenal kit really clashes with the green. It's horrible.

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

The problem is that Reading doesn't really have that many iconic things in it. The lion, the bridge and the Abbey gate maybe. The other buildings could be from almost anywhere, and if you'd showed me those silhouettes with no context then I'd probably not have thought "oh yes, that's Reading&qu...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

For me the ideal shirt combination should be something old fashioned and traditional for the home shirt, and something so crap it's great for the away shirt. If that skyline pattern was part of an away shirt, then big thumbs up. But as part of the home shirt? Yuck. However, they away kit looks reall...

Re: Pre-season games 2023/2024

This is without doubt the least interested I have ever been in pre-season - the games are pointless but if I'm not doing anything I'd look to watch but this year - just tough to get any real interest in the build up of what will be a long, long season - where at the moment, it feels like 20th will ...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai “ supporters action group v2.1

A lot of the concern is being generated by the lack of clear communication. It's possible that there are good reasons why nothing seems to be happening. Maybe there negotiations with the EFL and some signings depend on that. Maybe Selles has a work permit issue taking a while to sort out. Maybe ther...

That away kit was great. So bad that it was good.

The best one from that era though was the red and yellow hooped away shirt, I'd love to see that come back again.

Re: Readings most underrated and overrated players are....

Caskey was pretty good. His first season was a bit slow, but IIRC he scored loads of goals in the season after that. Probably the best free kick taker the club had until Harte came along.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Those kinds of statements are always quite funny, because they are clearly not being written by someone whose job it is to put out public statements. There's probably some PR person sitting there gritting their teeth as their boss hands them a badly written rant and tells them to stick it up on the ...

Overrated: Tom McIntyre, Michael Hector, Joe Gamble. Underrated: Scott Taylor, Jay Tabb, Lee Nogan McIntyre and Hector are decent players, but are often talked about as being far more important than they would be if they hadn't come out of the youth team. Gamble was one of those expected to be good ...
