Re: That Mbengue own goal

He has all the raw attributes to be a good player but his whole manner is so chaotic and he’s a liability in our back line. Constantly playing attacking players onside when the rest of the defence has pushed up, and incidents like yesterday mean he should most certainly have a rest.

Re: Huddersfield penalty shoot out - sliding doors?

The shoot-out probably was a sliding doors moment, but not in the way you'd expect. Had we gone up and been a Premier League club, Dai's ownership of the club wouldn't have been ratified and we would have remained owned by the Thais. This probably would have been an absolute disaster from a footbal...

Re: Worst case scenario

Retaining the use of the stadium, or being able to use a suitable stadium nearby, does seem very important. Lose the SCL and we are looking at wholly unsuitable venues (Scours Lane or Palmer Park) or maybe having to share at Maidenhead. The most awkward route was taken by Newport County, have to pl...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group v2.3 sponsored by Dunlop Tennis Balls

The invite seems to be going down as well as you'd expect from the Pompey fans on Twitter. My problem with Pompey at the time was that they had tangibly benefitted by cheating, and to add to it their cheating indirectly contributed to our Premier League relegation. One week before they cup final th...

Re: BFTG Orient

The period before Orient took the lead i thought we looked poor, however from that moment to half time we looked pretty good and got the equaliser to go in level. After a promising end to the half I was so disappointing we didn’t kick on in the second, I’m not sure we even had a chance until after t...

Re: You’re too small!

Wickham wasn’t released, his family moved out of our catchment area so we weren’t allowed to keep him. I can believe that Austin and Eze -and Shandon Baptiste were all told that they were too small, but I don’t think that was the real reason. I think it’s just a nice way of saying “not good enough”...

Re: You’re too small!

After the slight Vickers scoring the winner after hugely impressing this season, it got me thinking about academies releasing players for being “too small”. Some of the ones have been well documented, Austin, wickham etc but recently saw that we released Eze for being too small. Does anyone know wh...

Re: BFTG - Exeter

Finally back home - all the comments made so far paint a fair picture of the day. However, I'm surprised no one mentioned our one dimensional approach to corner and free kicks. Ball to the back post to Dean to head back across - it seemed very much like the tactic we use when Carroll plays and ther...

Re: BFTG - Exeter

I've not been able to go live this season but aside from Port Vale second half it sounds like we've done generally okay especially given the integration of several U21's and indeed the start of the current U21 side. I'm therefore quite surprised the most recent BBC Berks podcast leads with a traile...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

The Stevenage fans did seem like simple folk. I’m not sure what they were trying to achieve by singing ‘Premier League and you oxf*rd it up’?

Thanks for the info. Given they’ve raised the cost of the bus, the £2.30 return from Wokingham does look quite appealing for Saturdays.

Re: BFTG Peterborough

How did it go with the new away end? It seemed to achieve it's objective of gouging as much cash as possible from the away fans. (after years of letting them in an un-reciprocated £20) That’s a bonus then. Watch the highlights I was surprised to see Posh fans right next to C1871 section, I hope (pa...

Jay Tabb was overrated - lovely bloke and a good engine but severely limited footballing ability, mad that he was a Premier League player

Re: Relegation permutations

Huddersfield supporting mate of mine is convinced they are losing their two games in hand

He reckons Cardiff will want to confirm their status today, and Sheff Utd (who battered Preston yesterday) will want to get over their Yorkshire rivals.

Football fans and their pessimism ey?!

Re: BFTG Wigan

There is a gloom hanging above us that means we were relegated ages ago. We don't get the breaks of the ball, we don't get the ref decisions, we don't get the rebounds that fall to a player to tap in. This squad has the quality to stay up but it just hasn't happened, they don't work hard enough. Th...

Re: Most important goal in our history?

What is it? Could Carrolls be the most important goal we have ever scored? (If we stay up) No, still Kevin Doyle’s at Leicester. Iconic yes, important no. We had seven games after that one to secure promotion, the importance of the goal should be measured by the occasion. As mentioned above, Cureto...
