Remember spacey though that this was 'just' a friendly and results in friendlies don't really matter. Would you have said we're worse than the French if we'd lost?

in that sort of heat, against that sort of oppo you can't afford to give the ball away as easy as Reading did, that's the main lesson. Still it's far more valuable than beating the cast of Abba in Sweden as we have for the last 2 years. Agree with that but I think we'd have been better off playing ...

Worth noting that we're not exactly playing our first 11 ... John Halls at RB and that Dubois lad on the wing ... still not good to see we're being outplayed. Not surprising though given that RP would give ManUtd a good game if they played.

Steve Coppell will this week complete the signing of Emerse Fae , and will immediately follow that up with the double capture of Charlton right back Luke Young and former Charlton loanee Zheng Zhi , who enjoyed a very successful loan towards the back end of last season, although his performances we...

Re: RUMOUR - Lita & Shorey on the way out

A friend of mine was chatting with one of our goal keepers at the weekend and apparently the players think both Lita and Shorey will leave the club this summer. Just a rumour, but it did come from a player. Absolute bollox! Totally goes against the grain of what the club is trying to achieve. The c...

Has this site ever predicted a rumour for Reading that then actually happened? Worth bookmarking for the sheer laughter it brings alone. I started a Sam Sodje to Reading thread, and was told I was boring and predictable. :D You could always start a Shane Long to go on loan thread ... might raise yo...

Reading will announce the signing of MK Don's striker Izzle McLeod this week. Leicester were thought to be leading the chase but Reading moved for the striker at the 11th hour as Leroy Lita is set to leave Reading for Newcastle in a £7m deal. 7 millions a bit more like it, but i really hope this i...

P Mate

Just saw injury update on OS and there is something about P Mate. Anyone know what is the status of this guy - thought he was on season long loan, so I'd have thought he'd have either been sent home or had his loan made permanent/renewed. But I can't remember an announcement on this ... ?

A big spending Chairman (or at least one with a lax attitude to debt) can make a difference to signings but also increases risk.

There's a big difference between a big spending chairman (who invests his own money) and one with a lax attitude about debt .... i.e. spending the clubs money.

If you were to remove you RTG's you may see that he has a point. Look at Wigan and West Ham this year. Look at Ipswich in the past. The difficult second season will be with us, and we may well end up in a relegation dogfight. I'd probably rather take the Champions League football option. Although a...

I think Gunnar and Sidders are very different players - G is more of the holding midfield player, whereas S sees himself as an AM (not sure whether I do) in the mold of Paul Scholes. I think both a strength and weakness of our midfield this season was that Harper and Sidwell performed quite similar ...

Best moments - worst moments 2007/08

OK let me look into my crystal ball:

Best moments: beating Chelsea home and away

Worst moment: missing out on the Champions League on the last day of the season after Coppell fielded the youth team ... and we only got a draw!
