Re: Any more out the door?

Keep nova, loader, Olise, McIntyre around the team for experience. Others out on loan would be good. Nova has 1 year left on his deal, If he isn't playing, he isn't staying beyond that. His star is still high in the Netherlands, so we should sell if Puscas arrives as expected. The other 3 - Loader ...

Re: Rumour - Puscas

This is the one that feels a step too far and makes me nervous. But he sounds like he could be shit hot. I'm with you. 10 million? Makes my skin itchy that. I guess we have to trust the scouting department. Hopefully they know what we are doing. 5 years makes my skin crawl too. He shouldn't be on a...

Re: Are we screwed?

Right, time to say it. I'm really concerned by this Puscas rumour that looks true. Yesterday's business looked rational, but this just looks like tipping point. Rafael was a free and Pele was a loan, so they are sensible. The club may still be hoping to move on a couple of high earners, in particul...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Think there are some big numbers being banded around, when the reality is that they won’t be anything like it. One report seems to state that Joao is an initial £800k deal plus lots and lots of add ons. Spread all that over 4 years and it is may be £1m per year plus wages. Rafael is a Free transfer...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

There’s still space for the Academy lads but it’s round the fringes. Would still expect Rino, McIntyre, Olise, Loader and maybe Barrett to be getting some game time in, if not starting 11. Which is probably where they are at realistically right now Taking the fees out of it, looks like José is tryi...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Sanguine
sandman No drop in wages.

In fact an increase to £100k a week. All paid for by their sponsor.

Well played Derby!

Their chairman does seem to be very good at finding FFP loopholes. Fair play.

Re: Rumour - Puscas

I mean, a lot of risky signings you could say, but the one thing I truly trust Howe on is not to screw the club. If he sanctions these signings, I assume he's comfortable it fits with FFP. Most likely but I really don't see us signing 3 strikers, a defensive midfielder and a GK unless we are planni...

stop the press, "Return to Internazionale On 12 July 2019, Palermo was excluded from Serie B and the players were released from their contracts after the exclusion of the team.[28] Later that month, Pușcaș joined Inter for pre-season.[29] It wasn't announced if he signed new contract with the ...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Wayne Rooney rumoured to be returning from MLS to join Derby   If that’s correct surely that will finally break their FFP standing? He's on £85k a week at DC United and apparently will be taking a significant drop in wages. Also wonder if his player-coach designation would impact on FFP...

Re: Rumour: Lucas Joao

Whether we pay much in cash for him this season is not that relevant. Our owners have cash. The accounting which is what matters for FFP, not the cash flows, is unaffected by the timings of the payments for Joao. If its £5m, its £5m divided by number of years of his contract, each year. If we have ...

Re: Rumour: Lucas Joao

not sure anyone (with any sense) said Hector makes it cheaper, just that we won't be paying much for him this season what it maybe did mean, is by signing Joao it meant Sheff Weds could afford Hector, hence it might be money we wouldn't have got if Chelsea had held onto him and kept loaning him out...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

I don't like this front 4 idea. It's over the top and imbalanced. I'd like to see Swift pushed up into a more advanced role ahead of Rino and Pele, with a front 3. But obviously Gomes is manager so my opinion is fairly irrelevant. It's not a front 4 in that sense. It's a front 3 with a midfielder p...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

He's a tricky winger. Not a no.10. We essentially have 3 first choice wingers, with Boye, Barrow and Meite, all of whom could fill in up front if something happens to Joao. They will all get plenty of game time over the course of a gruelling season. Pretty sure Gomes said that Boye is a secondary s...

Re: Rumour: Lucas Joao

Looks like we are paying 800k now with the remaining amounts being paid over the next few years.

So we have essentially re-invested the Bodvarsson money or some of the Stacey sell-on to get him in - as well as writing off the Hector sell-on to make the move happen.

Pretty damn good deal if true.

Re: Next Season's Squad.

No way Boye has been signed for the bench. I think we'll stick him in behind the striker instead of swift. He's a tricky winger. Not a no.10. Re: Next Season's Squad.

Yes. Would mean a big squad again though. The bench should certainly be decent! Rafael Yiadom, Miazga, Moore, Blackett Rinomhota, Pele Meite, Swift, Barrow Joao Walker, Morrison, McIntyre, Adam, Boye, Novakovich, Olise/Loader/Baldock Disagree it would be big - we would have 2 players per outfield p...

Re: Rumour: Lucas Joao

Aluko 2.0. Transfer fee is ludicrous if true. It's like groundhog day being a supporter sometimes. 6ft 3.5" striker with a decent goals per minute ratio who can hold up play - we are screaming for a player like him. He is also only 25 so still room to improve - where as Aluko was what 29?, com...

Re: Are we screwed?

Maybe we've decided the money spent beyond FFP will gain us more points than we'd lose from a points deduction. More likely we're closing in on shifting more cost and anticipating money for Hector as already said. I doubt that Howe would go down that route so yes would expect they are comfortable t...
