Re: BFTG - Boro (A)

Two ex-players have texted their congratulations to the squad on survival.... https://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/what-incredible-job-two-messages-16191865 Dave Edwards gets an unfair rep. Yeah, he wasn't the best, but he grafted and seems like a great guy. Great to see Fernan...

Re: Dirty LOLeeds

I’m pretty sure they should’ve put it out when they signalled they were going to, which made all the Villa players stop, instead of just passing the ball forward. Yeah this. Play on, or stop. Don't stop and then play on. Yep this. You can't trick the opposition like that, it's not what football is ...

Re: Ups & Downs 2018/19

Brighton made up for an appalling first-half display by scoring their first goal in over 12 hours of football.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Istanbul Basaksehir lose at home to 2nd bottom Goztepe with Cameron Jerome scoring the winner. This means Galatasaray can go top on GD if they win their game in hand The 2 clubs play each other on the penultimate game of the season :o Looked that lot up as I'd never heard of them before. In the Tur...

Definitely saw a game in which Roach scored.

That probably narrows things down.

Re: Ups & Downs 2018/19

My Villa supporting mates were looking at the Sunday game and thinking Leeds would be going all out to damage the Villa side. Even though its not likely to be changing anything about the play off picture, I can see it being tasty.

yeah, almost as if there's a consistent pattern of regression to the mean in a second season in the Premiership

there's probably a snappier phrase for it

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

There was a chat about Suarez in the build up to the CL games. Best comment was "yeah, trained with him for years and I've no idea how good his first touch is". When its duff, he chases it down anyway.

Grade A shithat, but yeah, we all knew that.

Re: Ups & Downs 2018/19

Leyton Orient's draw at Solihull together with a Salford home defeat to Fylde means they need just a point from their final game to return to the League but even a defeat should seem them up bar a Goal Difference swing of 5 in Salford's favour or 8 in Solihull's. Are we all agreed that Leyton Orien...

2011-12, the run in. We played 3 other teams in the Top 4 and also Leeds in 2 weeks. Amazing scenes throughout. Went to/watched every one. First up: West Ham away. 4-2 win. Roberts and Leigertwood imperious. Great away day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THs915bDkyI I missed Leeds at home by a wee...

Leeds (H) Stoke (a) Preston (H) Hull (a) Norwich (a) Brentford (H) Bristol (a) WBA (H) Boro (a) Brum (H) I look at this and I kinda hope teams are already out of the playoff chase by the time we get there. So, 3 categories "have a nice day, here is 3 points" (in bold) outside chance (unde...

Re: BFTG - Hull (A)

hang on, how many pints does that make? I think two near the end we went onto halves, but pints in the Minerva. Swaying, not rolling, due to some excellent pacing and consistency in the crease. Shall we say 12 pints, in about eleven hours on the go? The other two items of note - everywhere was pack...

Re: BFTG - Hull (A)

BFTG - football post That was a sloppy score draw that went away from us because we had so little on the break and they were vicious in the counter-attack. The ball didn't sit for 90 minutes, bobbling around a blustery pitch. I think at 1-0 or 1-1, we had a few moments when we could have put that aw...
