Re: Squad for 2020/21

Takes all sorts of course, but I think this absolutely the wrong way to go. We let James Henry go 10 years ago. In that time we've been Championship winners, we've played in the Premier League,. we've been to the FA Cup semi-final. How long were we supposed to hang on to him? He's a decent pro, but...

Re: Rumour - Olise to Leeds

I don't disagree, I think we're in the situation where he will go for nothing in a year. Absolutely dreadful move by the club all round on how they have handled Moore's transfer/contract situation. he has 3 years left on his contract. if he was in his final year then it'd be good news Liam Moore si...

Re: The Non - League thread

Simmops Cannot remember the last time we had two completely new league teams in league 2. Maybe the days of Boston, Rushden and Diamonds (ripip what a gr8 team)

Barrow are not a new team. Previously failed re-election in 1972 to Hereford United after 51 seasons in the FL

Hendo I really like our Macron kits, but this is just a bit shit.

Home Bargains could be a bit of a misfortunate sponsor if the season doesn’t pan out too well at Bolton

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Just asking but with Osho going who will now be the back up for Yiadom once he starts playing again, Does this also suggest playing 5 - 3 - 2 more often and a midfielder backing up the right wing back position? Is this also the same issue at left back with Obita and Blackett going, and presumably u...

Re: The Non - League thread

Harrogate go up from the National League, some achievement. Get the diggers in lads, you've got a lot of turf to lay! First few home games for Harrogate will have to be played “away”, presumably at Bradford, Leeds, York or Huddersfield, while the new turf settles in. But given no one is allowed to ...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

For the record, the current top 10 longest serving managers in the Premier and Football League are now : ⋅  Simon Weaver (Harrogate Town) - 11 years, 73 days ⋅  Gareth Ainsworth (Wycombe) - 7 years, 313 days ⋅  Sean Dyche (Burnley) - 7 years, 277 days ⋅  John ...

Re: On this day

Yes, as it was half a century ago, I can't remember much about the game except it was a massive crowd, probably the highest attendance I was in at Elm Park and The Biscuitmen did well and gave the Mighty U's a bit of a fright. It was the only time I saw Denis Law, Bobby Charlton etc. "in the f...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Was going through ‘personal issues’ during his loan spell with us....no wonder he was loaned out...Reading the xuckers as usual. What would his last seasons 11 goals have done for us? Noth8ng if he had played instead of either of the 2 players who scored more.... Unless his 11 goals turned up in ga...

Re: Rival Watch

For the Stadium sale? I doubt it. We had a realistic valuation and didn't deliberately record it in a different tax year to pass FFP. It seems unlikely, but we were still under investigation. Think the ground sale element is OK the issue is general overspend on the playing side of things though qui...

Re: Ups & Downs 19/20

Shef Wed starting next season on -12 points. Would have been enough to see them finish bottom this season, and having it confirmed now would presumably impact on their possible transfer dealings this summer too. Charlton contemplating an appeal now as a result What an absolute mess it all is Isn’t ...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Reading FC not releasing their new kit designs one week before the start of a season? What on earth is going on? Don't worry about it. They'll compensate by ensuring they're not available to buy until at least six weeks after the season has commenced! Previous years has seen kit announced about 1 m...

Old Man Andrews Chris Martin is officially now available on a free! We need to strike whilst the iron is hot!

Now 31 and struck 11 in 36 league appearances this last season. Now he’s over his illness problem then he’s probably as good as the club might be able to afford.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Any club like Bournemouth that doesn't tie everyone into relegation release and wage reduction clauses deserves everything they get. I mean, when you see the trouble it causes big and previously established clubs like Newcastle, Leeds, Villa etc across the last 20 years, it's almost criminally negl...

Re: Ups & Downs 19/20

I believe Blackpool are the most successful play off team being the only one to win all 3 levels, getting to 7 finals from 8 plays offs, winning 5 of the finals they have appeared in Teams in red and white strips do much worse than anyone else. Between Lincoln, Brentford, Shef Utd and Sunderland th...
