Re: Next Manager

Jaytee Have you seen Sparky's record at his last 2 clubs ? You have to be joking.

5 wins from 27 at Soton - yep crap.

71 from 200 at Stoke - isnt that actually pretty impressive? We're talking Stoke here - in the Prem

Re: Next Manager

I'm strangely warming to the probability without being a massive supporter of it as a move. I think that would sum up my feelings to it. One thing that the last 4 managers have in common is they all seem proper decent guys. Everyone who knew or met Stam loved him, know people who worked with him pr...

Re: The Local Journo Thread

The troll only has their selves to blame for all this, firstly because they made the lives of other people a misery with unwarranted attacks that crossed the line and secondly, because they were stupid enough to post a link on an Anything Else thread last week to a site that had their e-mail addres...

Re: GOMES OUT!

Twitter hashtag is a ridiculous place right now. Grown adult STHs threatening to demand a refund as the club aren’t giving a running commentary on what’s progressing. Although the same fans embarrassing themselves does give you that warm, safe feeling knowing that life isn’t all that bad. yep, and ...

Re: Next Manager

yes, I've not really considered Hughton as I think there is little chance of him coming. I'd certainly prefer him, but again comes with some caveats. The main one being is that he is again a cracking chap. Always liked him. I'm not sure that's what we need. Also just that bit older at 60. Would hope...

Re: Next Manager

Im genuinely confused why an experienced manager with a half decent record over a long period of time seems to be stirring up such poor feeling I know he is a bit of a cock. Don't think anyone can deny that. But otherwise not really sure why the hatred tbf likewise why quite so much fawning from som...

Re: Next Manager

Karanka would be a good shout actually

I'm assuming Hughton wouldn't come, but Hughes and Karanka would be my next two choices out of the possibles

Re: The Local Journo Thread

@ChronCourtney Last year, I was subjected to vile abuse from an online troll about my work. I received threats, insults to myself and my family and verged on quitting my job. Today, I have discovered the person behind that account. I might just have to venture back into journalism for a day. Readin...

other than the obvious answer of 'because he's a complete belled', why is maffff trying to start some hate campaign against McCleary on Twitter?

Re: Next Manager

This whole "knows about Championship football" thing is nonsense Stam had absolutely no experience of Championship football and got us to a playoff final, because he played the right system to win matches and caught a lot of teams by surprise that season. It just so happens that he didn't...

Re: Will we get found out again?

I don't think Cardiff was a fluke as such. I think we did surprise them with our set up and played well. We did again against WBA. The problem is, teams then watched us and picked up the weaknesses of the system. Ie do whatever to stop the ball getting to Swift and Ejaria in space, and attack behind...

Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

And McNulty. Being ruthless is accepted, if it works. This season, it's not working. Of all of those McNulty probably has the best case.id say. Meite, Rinomhota and Richards are still getting games. And Kelly and Mannone were just plain shit. Compare Richards performances before and after being dro...

I'm sure he doesn't mean it in a racist way. Just someone who hasn't ever played or managed in England - ie Gomes

Re: Next Manager

Even with Soton, he did keep them up. Actually sounds perfect, keep us up, start the next season terribly after a load of ill advised signings, and then get sacked I'm not sure where the Mark Hughes=terrible football comes from. Admittedly haven't even studied it closely, but I remember Fulham playi...

Re: GOMES OUT!

No one at all wants to keep sacking managers. It’s expensive and frustrating to have to rebuild But you have to make a decision on whether it’s more dangerous to the club to keep someone with a 25% win percentage, seems to have lost his players and has no real pedigree or replace with someone you th...

Re: GOMES OUT!

I was totally behind Gomes being sacked but if we get Hughes in, what a oxf*rd trainwreck. Surely they must see how poorly received such an appointment would be. I can't agree more ... I'd just give up and look for another team. One of my best friends is a Saints supporter and when I mentioned this...
