Re: Jinx Time

Added to mix is that this is our first game after an international break, when (from memory only and I CBA to find any stats) we are usually very slow out of the blocks and rarely win.

Re: Arsenal Barca

Bizarely (to me at least), the Grauniad only gave Koscielny 6/10 this morning and Van Persie 8/10, when I though Van Persie had (goal and snap shot in the first half apart) made a number of poor decisions during the game, often taking more touches than necessary or leaving it too late to try the sho...

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

I'll just add this to the endless Harte debate:

The free kick he made a complete dogs-arse of in the 88th minute was completely unforgiveable.

That is all.

Re: Violent Conduct????????

Similarly if the ban period covered a cup game would that count given his ineligibility for that match? Are Reading due to be kicked out of the FA Cup for fielding an ineligible player then? Eh? Note sure you understood my question - if Leigertwood's 3 game ban covered a period when we were due to ...

Re: Violent Conduct????????

The trouble is, if you appeal then often the FA have a habit of extending the ban. Accept it and move on. The only issue I have is why these players couldn't accept the decision and move on. Leigertwood has accepted the ban anyway. Will the ban cover the qpr game as he wasn't eligible for that matc...

Re: Cardiff Away - Match Thread

I know it's not related to our match, but interesting tales from the valley: High farce at The Valley. Steven Gillespie puts the ball in the net. The referee blows, no goal. Colchester protest - after all, there was no offside flag. Goal given. Charlton protest, especially to the fourth official. Th...

Re: Crap football phraseology

Player x "hangs in the air well" - has he got anti-gravity boots then? He'll stay in the air exactly the same amount of time I would if I jumped that high (which, given my weight and age, is unlikely). Not a precise phrase, but the way commentators state that the ball picks up speed off a ...

Re: Back from the Game - Hull (H)

Really quite poor game. We dominated the first half without creating any decent chances or putting their keeper under pressure. Hull were really crap and showed no attacking intent until they got their goal, after which we went to pieces and didn't look like getting anything out of the game - the pe...

Re: Ivar and Brynjar agree to stay with Reading

The above post shows the folly of digging up an old thread to discuss something different to the OP. it seems that a lot of people just read threads from the beginning without checking the date!

Re: Back from The game- Doncaster away

IMO the rule should be if you gain an advantage from the ball hitting the hand or arm, whether or not it's intentional.

And since handballs should only be given for intent, why aren't they all automatic yellow cards?

Not quite.
Just wishing for someone, anyone (without knowing the first thing about them) to take over from Sir Mad just seems bonkers to me, whatever your opinions of SM are.

Re: SPECULATION - Charlie Austin

I refuse to believe there's any mileage in this rumour until I see it confirmed by Gazzer Loyal Royal theres not really much to say, as i don't think much will go on. However, i only see my source in the summer transfer window so i will only really be able to confirm if there was contact or whatsoe...

Re: Back from the Game - Burnley

Not much to add myself to the reports of the game, the majority of which I agree with. Didn't see the Long penalty incident, but I thought Jobi claimed for one in the first half, which I thought would have been harsh if it had been given. We were very fortunate to go in at half time level, but just ...
