Re: Most devoted supporter

Negative_Jeff Over a season Paul Black probably clocks up half as many miles again watching other matches. I think it`s his hobby.

Do not think you can call it a hobby! More like an obsession. I can remember seeing Blacky at a 1st round FA Cup tie at Bridgwater in '71.

Re: World cup qualifiers

Surely they won't? No they won't, it was a joke suggestion. Teams from the same confederation - except UEFA - cannot be put in the same group. However, we could get USA, England, North Korea in same group. are there any other European nations that would make that fun? Russia? No doubt Italy w...

Re: Paul Canoville

--for those oldies amongst you, there is an excellent article about him in today's Mail. I remember his signing at the time--50k from Chelsea which was a real coup/bargain at the time. Tragically his career was cut short by injury, but he became a cult figure in the few games he played for Royals a...

Re: Marcus to wolves * confirmed*

Good luck to Marcus. Met him once and not only is he one big unit, but a really nice bloke as well. He promised the kids his autograph after a game but had to do the sponsors' lounge first. Sure enough, he came back and signed.

Re: World cup qualifiers

Congratulations to North Korea! The dear leader will be pleased. Here's to hoping they draw South Korea, USA & Japan. Surely they won't? No they won't, it was a joke suggestion. Teams from the same confederation - except UEFA - cannot be put in the same group. However, we could get USA, England...

Re: Were you at that Port Vale game?

I think you will find it was Grimsby that did not get the result they needed to stop us winning the title.

You're probably right, should have looked it up,memory is not brilliant

Yes, I think Grimsby lost 4-3 to Doncaster to give us the title.

Re: Were you at that Port Vale game?

Yes. We had all four seasons in one afternoon for that game. Vale Park was a big old unit back then. Our coach broke down on the way back to Reading, so very little time to celebrate winning the title.

Re: Biggest Rivalry in Football

Tony Le Mesmer I cant believe no one's mentioned Woodley Saints / Woodley Hammers.

The scenes for the U12's match that Saturday Morning were sickening.

Local rivals from back in the day: West Reading v Rabson Rovers. I remember a game getting close to 2,000 once.

Just recalled that Ronnie Moore was up front for Tranny that night and he got the tin-tack from them last week.

Re: Did you see that Tranmere game?

What was the attendance of the Tranmere game with THAT Robin Friday goal? I'd like to know simply because I swear there are a greater number fans claiming to have seen it. I wish I could have seen it. Instead I just try and piece it together in my head based on what I hear people say. I'm sure I'll...

Re: Shunt wants away

I would be glad to see him go and Buck gets the fee to buy some young, hungry player(s). Shunt is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is and once in the Prem he will disappear as fast as an ex-Royal in a Villa shirt.
