Re: Leeds a Cup Final game?

handbags_harris Larger clubs like Leeds will be a bigger draw than Wigan...

You could have left it there really.

The idea that people, fans or players, will be really up for a game against Wigan because they've been in the premier league for a few years is daft.

Re: Nicky Hammond expects two first teamers to go

Its shit how players jump ship when teams are relegated, especially new players like Pog and Carrico.Granted Carrico didnt get much of a look in but Pog played lots of games. He played his part in our relegation so he should stay for one more season to help us. :| What? you dont think players should ...

Re: Leeds a Cup Final game?

Bigger games than Leeds that already spring to mind are: QPR Wigan Brighton Blackburn Bolton Watford Forest . face it though, I bet the crowd for the Leeds home game will be bigger than Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton and probably Watford, unless there's anything special riding on those games. There's no ...

Re: Leeds a Cup Final game?

I think people will be more up for a match v Leeds than Barnsley or Preston, but beyond that they aren't really any more "mouth-watering" than games against a host of once-big championship clubs.

Still, every club has their idiot supporters.

Re: Marussia F1 link-up

Royal91 I don't like people disagreeing where they have no logical argument.

I can't think of one reason why this is a bad idea.

If you had a logical argument, you'd have started by addressing all those who said it was a bad idea first, which is nobody.

Re: Offside Rule 'Tweaked'

I think/hope the second part of that is the crucial part.

It looks like they've addressed the farce we've had lately where the linesman doesn't flag until the offside player touches the ball.

It should now mean the moment you go for the ball, you'll be flagged offside.

Re: Kit - Hoops All The Way Round?

I think everyone understands the problem of numbers being hard to read if there are hoops all the way round. Why I can't get is why nobody at the club can seem to grasp that having an entirely white panel at the back isn't the only way round this. Is having a white square big enough to contain a two...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Football shirts are a no no for anyone over the age of 18. Acceptable RFC related items to wear on match days are 1)Retro shirt 2)T-shirt 3)Retro scarf that might be so in the UK, as the same thing basically applies for american football over here. i dont think the stigma is there for real football...

Re: Marussia F1 link-up

It's not necessarily about attracting lifelong supporters, just about growing the brand so that 'Reading FC' as both an employer and as a commercial entity is instantly more recognisable across the globe. That's why sponsors pay so much money to have 'tiny' logos tattooed across F1 cars... Sponsors...

Re: Marussia F1 link-up

It seems a little mystifying, as I can't see a single benefit to either party in this deal. Really? You can't see a single benefit to our logo being visible in a sport that attracts over half a billion TV viewers every season? Fair enough. When you put it like that, it becomes obvious. No doubt mil...

Re: Lamar Hunt US Open Cup

I kind of amazes me just how many people in England still buy into a The Sun style viewpoint that football in the USA is conference standard football played out in front of similar sized crowds, albeit in bigger stadiums, with the people just there to watch the cheerleaders. Then again, I can recall...

Re: Games you'll admit you didn't bother going to

although not strictly a "didn't bother going to" match as I was out of the country, the only game I missed at home in 12 month spell where we only won one home game was the sodding Blackpool game. I guess I had said I wasn't bothered about missing the game when I booked the trip. The follo...

Re: NO LONGER A RUMOUR - Wayne Bridge

I must be missing something here as this seems an utterly bizarre signing; we release 2 geriatric (in football terms) left backs and replace them with another one who has barely played a game for the last few seasons. I am completely indifferent to this signing and fully expect him to get injured w...

Re: FIFA Confederations Cup 2013

It's going to be a good bit of light summer entertainment. No emotional investment without England there. I thought that about EURO 2012, applying blind before the draw had even been made. I got two games - England v France and England v Sweden. I went out to the Confederations Cup in 2005 when it ...

Re: Non - League thread 2012/13

Incredible with the amount of technical businesses in Bracknell that they struggle to get sponsorship deals year on year. But then I suppose it's all a catch-22 at that level for all clubs.... without being unduly unkind, why would any business want to be associated with that shower of shit? The cl...
