Re: Your first game watching Reading FC

1959 away at Colchester, lost 4-2 . No idea why my dad took me on a coach there, he was never a fan but ignited a lifelong passion for me

Re: RIP - Gordon Neate

Very sad news, condolences to his family. Saw him on many occasions, he would have been the first to admit finesse was not his forte but on a slick pitch his sliding tackles were something to behold. 100% effort was a given, a true hoop if ever there was one.

Martinez Yiadom Moore Miazga Gunter Rino Bacuna Swift Ejaria Oliveira Aluko Bod, Keeper, Harriott, McCleary, Blackett, Baker, Loader Minimal changes. Need to stop chopping and changing. How in the hell can you justify playing Gunter after last night? I didn't watch the game. have no idea how he pla...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a) sponsored by the need not ot lose

Obviously he's come on in the 90th minute but I just don't see why Loader is playing still. It really won't help his confidence if he's continuously picked, he's now trying too hard to score, aka Vydra, and you can see him panicking when in good positions, like at Old Trafford. He really needs a lo...

Re: Rumour - Tyler Blackett to Wigan

Snowflake Royal The fact that we have no Manager or DoF and we're apparently trying to sell our only fit senior centreback is utterly baffling to me, even if I wouldn't be particularly upset to see Blackett go.

The rumour says Wigan want to buy him, where does it say we want to sell?

Re: New Manager

Where is it confirmed that this is all the doing of an agent? All these people are very successful, would they really have got that by being so naive as implied on here.?

Re: New Manager

That's true but who's does? Parkinson hasn't pulled up any trees and Ainsworth, while looking ok at the moment falls into the same category as the guy who went to Ipswich. Some managers do well at smaller teams but cant handle teams with bigger budgets. It's a lottery

Re: New Manager

Getting quite depressed about the way people are approaching this appointment. Most comments are based on very little actual knowledge. So, ok we are getting a manager we know not a lot about but some of the language used towards him, if he read them he' d certainly change his mind about coming her...

Cheers Forbury. Was there that night and just seeing this picture brings it all flooding back. No shin pads, got hacked all the time..........what a pleasure to witness 'the greatest player you never saw'. God, how we could do with him now. I was among the 500,000 behind the goal on theTilehurst en...

Walking away from the ground I was interested in a Wigan fans very loud conversation with a friend on the phone. " We were crap but we were completely outplayed, far better than us " was his summary.

Re: Are The Youngsters Being Frozen Out?

Harpers So Solid Crew Perhaps he played as many games as the loan allowed, anymore may have cost them further money.
We don't know the terms of the loans.

Bit of a waste of time putting him on the bench in that case !

Re: Are The Youngsters Being Frozen Out?

Fosu vs Derby away a couple of seasons ago was like  and then nothing. Clearly the boy can play....we've all seen it. So why the permanent exclusion? But don't forget, when on loan he could only make the bench for Accrington Stable for the playoffs and stayed on it unused. He started well th...

Re: CONFIMRED - Danzell Gravenberch

This board just seems to get more depressing. Unless you a big followers of Dutch or Romanian football then you know as much about him as me i.e. nothing. He has been on trial here, is known to our new man Brian Tevrenden, so I assume the club might know slightly more than the average Nobber. So it ...

Re: Blackpool match fred sponsored by a mouldy tangerine

Bftg and not really sure about some of the remarks on here. Think people are letting the players off really lightly and blaming the manager instead. The team we put out , with the right attitude, was good enough to win that game. Sadly, it appears that some of them either think we are safe and are i...

Re: BFTG Brighton

I'd argue federici should have come for the ball on the first goal. Struggling to think of a worse player I've ever seen in a Reading shirt than Blackman Nigel Vaughan, Colin Gordon, spring to mind very quickly. Just pick up a team list from the Branfoot era and you'll always find couple of candida...

Re: where did it all go wrong?

You can actually chart our problems way back in 1970/71 when "The Board", in their infinite wisdom, decided to sack Jack Mansell after a dismal run that left us in dire straits towards the foot of old Div 4. In a few short months he had transformed us into the original "tippy tappy&q...
