Re: The 92 Club - how many have you done?

72, which includes old grounds and grounds at non-league clubs: Newport (Somerton Park), Chester (Deva Stadium), Chesterfield (Saltergate), Sh!ts (Recreation Ground), Barnet (Underhill), York (Bootham Crescent), Oldham (Boundary Park), Southend (Roots Hall). Hoping to tick off Lincoln and Carlisle t...

Re: BTFG Cambridge

Was at the game and my thoughts are that Elliott has to play more centrally. On top of that, I was rather bemused by his substitution as I thought he was a threat. Also puzzled by Wifi's omission as he made a real difference when he came on. The left side concerns me: Carson is just not ready yet as...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

Travelled down to Exeter today and staying with friends for the weekend dead opposite the away end. Word of warning for those driving down: it took me FIVE hours from Bracknell and the M4 and M5 were clogged. Google Maps saved me 30 mins by diverting off the M4 on to the M32 into Bristol, St. ...

Re: The Non - League thread

Windsor & Eton 6 Slough Heating 0. Crowd of 400+ at the Stag. Great atmosphere, very entertaining and W&E well worth the big win. Front three - including a new no. 9 - were just mustard and it could have been more. They will rip up this league if they keep that up.

Re: BFTG Stevenage

There will be sterner tests to come, but Bindon looked as impressive a centre back I have seen since Dariusz Wdowczyk. So calm and collected on the ball and rarely went to ground. A burgeoning partnership with Abbey promises much. Will be a good test for them both at Exeter next week. Wifi deserved ...

Re: BFTG - Cheltenham

Maybe the start of a new era tonight and the kids were great. Vickers is a talent and Carson looks a real find at LB, Bindon was coolness personified; Abbey was exceptional and looks a natural leader. However, our second half performances have been worrying and each of the three league games to date...

Re: Name the Game

I think it maybe away to Maidstone utd in the FA Cup 1988??? Game at Maidstone was an evening game, as was a replay. Maidstone played at Watling Street in Dartford when Reading went there, given the fact the photo is taken in daylight it won't be Maidstone as Reading played the cup replay there on ...

Re: Football Stadia - Past, Present & Future

Just to be clear, Wimbledon Stadium (also on Plough Lane) was used exclusively for speedway and greyhounds. A big old stadium as well and once held 42,000. Saw the Racers there and also the Wills Internationale, which was one of the most prestigious individual meetings of the 70s. Wimbledon FC playe...

Re: Port Vale (A)

In. Driving up with nephew and his son. Will be my third visit to Vale Park (was there in '79 for the title-clinching win) and it is a decent enough ground. Was a big old ground back in the days of 'The Wembley of the North' and record attendance was just under 50,000; there were plans to expand cap...

New drinking game in the offing: a shot each time Ruben Selles begins a sentence in his interviews with "...Absolutely, absolutely...".

Anyway, good luck Ruben. Hopefully, better times ahead this season.

Re: Readings most underrated and overrated players are....

Overrated: Michael Meaker Underrated: Simon Osborn To think that we got Meaker in a part-ex deal for Osborn. Laughable. The reason Osborn is underrated is that a lot of Reading fans today did not see him play - and those that did only saw him for one season. A wonderfully talented midfielder - and a...

Re: CONFIMRED - Relegation

For me: 1970/71 1976/77 1982/83 1987/88 1997/98 2007/08 2012/13 and now...2022/23 Weird, but I can remember where I was and what I was doing at the moment of all of those relegations. 1970/71 was really hard - we had been a third-tier club for FORTY years and it felt like our natural ceiling. Relega...
