Re: OOOOOHHHHHH ALEX MCCARTHY

St. Brynjar Leeds fans on Twitter all raving about how good McCarthy was last year on loan and they think now they have Brian they have a chance at signing him.

They might have a chance of signing Feds, as Brian seems to rate him and Paddy Kenny will be off if Warnock takes another job somewhere.

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER BUDGET

I dont really believe in transfer budgets anymore. It seems to be more the case that a manager goes to a chairman on a case-by-case basis looking at the players he wants and whether they'll fund them. This has been the case at Reading in recent years, and was Mr. Mad's preferred way of doing things...

Re: Next Reading Manager

I can obviously see the similarities with Wolves, but I don't really share the concern that we haven't appointed anyone yet. I'd have been pretty happy with getting Poyet in right now, but he's by no means the only decent up and coming manager in the world and so I'd rather we take our time and app...

Re: Next Reading Manager

[If Anton no longer feels Brian is up to the mark then he is absolutely right to get rid of him. I'd much rather he did that than negotiate with other managers behind his back and string him along in the meantime.[/quote] See, and I would have no issue if the board negotiated with another manager be...

Re: MCDERMOTT SACKED

Was out yesterday evening and only got the news late. Am now posting in my lunch hour and don't have time to read 27 pages. My views, for what they are worth: Full respect to Brian, genuine nice guy, but after the Villa game it was time to go. You have to expect that we are down anyway and the more ...

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson

My reading of the Evening Standard article was that Gylfi was just being sensibly diplomatic. He would have been daft to tell Spurs that he wished Reading's bid had been accepted, but at the same time he significantly did not say that he was delighted to be staying at Spurs rather than returning to ...

Jerry St Clair We could renew acquaintances with Swindon and Bournemouth.

YES, to that.

NO to that. Nothing against Bournemouth, but I'd rather be at least two divisions higher than Swindon. If we should go down I certainly don't want Swindon promoted.

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson

Gylfi getting absolutely slaughtered on twitter by Spurs supporters. Guess he's not well liked there then. A wrong move gone even more wrong. Hope he realises this in the summer. I hope so too, he also needs to realise he's still loved here. Not at the Swans anymore either, they have their Michu no...

Re: Penalties

Jackson Corner I don't recall Richie Bowman ever missing one. Jimmy Quinn must be up there but I do remember him launching one clean out the ground at York in 94.

I do recall seeing Richie miss one (or rather have it saved). Great player, though, and a very good penalty taker.

Steve Death
Shaka
Marcus Hahnemann

Deathy had a long loan spell for us before signing permanently. That loan spell was amazing, - the best goalkeeping I have seen. He was pretty damned good after he signed permanently.

Pants day was in Pardew's reign. He didn't appreciate it, though Mr. Mad saw the funny side.

Re: Carrico interview

Playing him with so little football under his belt was without doubt a gamble and BM would have got alot of stick about it if we had lost. What I do not understand is why he was not on the bench v sheff utd and given 30 minutes or so when it was game over If he is not injured it has been nearly a m...

ALF and Lambert to come in then. Both to be sent on in the last 15 - 20 if we are chasing the game.

Re: Adam Le Fondre - Possible England Call Up?

It should be ALF, as it's Defoe to be replaced (probably). You would never have the two of them in the same squad, as they are too similar. Defoe is a better version of ALF, but if he is not there then ALF is the nearest equivalent.

Vision Yup. No wonder we can't win oxf*rd all when the Milton Keynes left back is picking the team

Perhaps he is going to sign for us on Wednesday. He is a player who has interested us in the past.

Maybe the right Lewington, wrong rumour.

Re: Rumour/Speculation - Becchio

Funnily enough I do rate him, and when I have seen him play he has looked like he could play off the main striker; "in the hole" if you like. That said, Leeds have been playing him right up front this season and he has been scoring goals. As an option for a 4-4-1-1 I would be interested. M...

Re: Back from the miracle

Yeah, a deeper lying ball playing midfielder who is happy to rove forward too. I think Crawley fans said his tackling was his worst feature. People see a big bloke and assume defensive. I though the Crawley fan said he was quite good at tackling but he is a bit excitable which leads him to doing so...
