Re: BTFS - QPR

Hats off to Holloway last night-he had done his homework and sussed us out. We are so slow on the ball, that he knew if they crowded out the player in possession in the Rangers half, that we wouldn't be going anywhere-he then got the necessary break on the goal. Whether they can continue play like t...

Old Trafford Legal Action

Did anyone hear about Old Trafford threatening legal action against RFC for offering discounted tickets to Royals fans ? Got this off a STAR rep.
Presumably now the game is over and gone, the threat has been removed.
My apologies if anyone else mentioned this.

Re: BFTG - United (A)

Final thoughts on yesterday. When I walked from the coach-I found the whole atmosphere outside the ground intimidating-not in terms of threat of violence etc.,(the current set of Man U fans are tourists compared with the set that I use to see at London games in the 70s) but just the overall weight o...

Re: BFTG - United (A)

Just got back-my bum is shredded from sitting in the coach for hours-still glad I went despite the horrible result. Game was up after 15 minutes, and while we pressed for a couple of periods we never looked like scoring; except perhaps Moore's chance.I expected the senior pro's to step up and displa...

Re: BFTG - Norwich home

I just can't help feeling we are going to hit the wall , and go on a bad run-today was not the day however. Shocked at how poor Norwich were-however they had a good spell 2nd half , when for ten minutes we were absolute pants-then shot on goal, pen and player sent off and we were on the money. Habsi...

Re: BFTG - Wednesday Home

Lets not forget however we missed two sitters 2nd half. Al 7: Two good saves, usual howler of a pass out. Gunts 6: Normal, more good than bad-just. Obita 8 : Played really well both as defensive cover and in attack. McShane 8: Back to his best-dodgy tackle just before the melee Moore 8: Normal servi...

Re: BFTG-Bristol city.

I thought today was a reality check. Brizzie were the most vibrant team imo we have had at the Mad Stad this season and we were hanging on a bit in the 2nd half. Three or four players are carrying the team, and the rest seem incapable of digging in when it matters. But hey ho a wins a win. Habsi 7: ...

Re: BFTG - Burton

Always comfortable; at half time I thought we were going to get six.2nd half we were complacent, and a better team might have made us look silly. The system suits us to a T. Al Habs: 7 No problems, very brave a couple of times and got a clattering. Few poor kicks. Gunter: 6 Not a seven, some nice cro...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (h) sponsored by Mikele Leigertwood

Two poor teams-we were just slightly less poor than them-yet we are 5th, all credit to Stam. Forest 1st half were as bad as anything I have seen at the Mad Stad, for some time-2nd half at least they gave it a go. Doubt they will go down. What a pillock Lansbury is. Al Habsi 8: MOM, one howler 2nd ha...

Re: BFTG Villa

Stupid is what stupid does. I actually thought we had the better of Villa over 90 minutes; but they found the will to go again in the last ten to fifteen minutes, enabling them to snatch undeserved win. Maybe Bruce deserves credit for being bold with his use of subs-while Stam kept his in the hutch-...

BFTG:Derby

Got out of jail. Last 15 minutes good entertainment -rest of the game bit boring. WE do have a Plan B ! Al Habsi 6: One great save;but very nervy the rest of the time. Gunter 5: Drop in consistency today-kept giving the ball away 1st half. Obita 5 : Good 1st half, then defensively fell apart 2nd hal...

Re: BFTG - 'uddersfield

That was desperate 2nd half and Huddersfield could have easily won it. A win is a win however and for all our inability to wrap up the game , 2nd half; we achieved the three points. Al Habsi 5 : One horror show ; was it a good save right at the end, or did he make a meal of it ? Gunts 6: At RB, I th...

Re: BFTG Barnsley

Harsh red IMO Just looked at the Sky highlights-Swift looks as if he played for the Pen-sending off very harsh , not helped by the Barnsley player making a meal of it .A lot of Pros have very little respect for their fellow professionals. Listened to the game on Radio Berks-Deller's commentary stil...

Re: BFTG Birmingham

First half was incredibly tedious; punctuated by a couple of chances for Brum-their finishing was so inept however ; that I felt they just couldn't score. We dominated the 2nd half-in particular a twenty minute period when by force of will , the boys drove them back to their 6 yard line-unfortunatel...

Re: BFTG - Ipswich home

That was awful-three points should not deflect the need for change.I accept however that with only Kermit & Mendes Jap's options are limited in terms of forward movement and ingenuity. Al Habsi: 6 Some good saves , some mishandling & a couple of poor kicks-often gave the ball way to his defe...

Re: BFTG . Brighton

I actually enjoyed the game, and I haven't said that for a while. Brighton are very good-but have too many old men to be serious contenders. They had us on toast for twenty minutes around about when they got their 1st goal-then we had them under the cosh for about twenty minutes 2nd half; however so...

Re: Striker PRIORITY

So what do we do-sign another winger and midfielder ! It has seemed to be a policy for RFC-for years; to have a huge squad of bang average players-rather than push the boat out for say 5 quality players(pay a lot of money) in key positions. If they get injured-then feed the Academy recruits in &...

Re: BTFG Wolves

WE have four very good wingers-but without any strikers , having four is a luxury we can ill afford. Kermit & Denis are not up to it-lets hope Mendes (?) can do something ? Listened this PM to Mick and Dim, and it seemed we hardly posed any kind of threat over 90 plus minutes. Forget Liam Moore-...

Re: BFTG - Preston Home

Impressive 1st half then it fell away 2nd half-badly in the last 20 minutes or so. You could at least discern what system Stam was trying to operate & in the 1st half it worked really well & we should have been 3 up. Lets hope the falling away in the 2nd half was down to fatigue and the heat...

OK I have only seen Fosu play once-nevertheless bit like Rashford he does give it a go, with a lot of pace-be disappointed to see him loaned out again.
