Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

I've only seen each incident once. In Mings' case I can see how it might be deemed accidental but he's lucky to stay on. With Ibrahimavic, he seems to make a clear, deliberate motion with his elbow towards the player. Clear red in my opinion.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Yeah, but he did well at Millwall.

I just think he maybe has an abrasively smug personality that is tolerated for short periods of time but eventually loses respect and he's so easy to wind up.

Emeraldroyal will be having words. He takes great offence at any suggestion Celtic are not a major force in European football.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Says it all that his 3 1/2 years at Reading is the longest he's stayed in any managerial job and Millwall aside, he's not come anywhere near replicating that success in the subsequent 23 years. His footballing philosophy was pretty sound so I've no idea where it's gone wrong. Maybe he's just a colo...

bobby1413 Didn't a former player once mention hobnob?

Starfish made up a spoof news article from a newspaper in Tipperary quoting Shane Long to wind up Snowball.

Re: Where I think we stand.

That would be Gunnarsson and Lita who weren't regular starters. I'm talking about the general consensus that we should not have released Forster go, the signings were expensive lower league gambles or complete nobodies from nothing leagues and that after Plymouth, we were in a relegation struggle an...

Re: Where I think we stand.

So it was. Looking at that 2004-05 season, there was absolutely no inkling we were about to wipe the floor with that league. In fact I remember what it was like on here after the defeat to Plymouth on the opening day of 2005-06. Put simply, I cant think of too many managers who have achieved in 8 mo...

Re: Where I think we stand.

Stoke were a decent team and we didn't travel well so that was understandable but the performances at home to Wimbledon and Palace were, gutless and abject. I think it was the start of a 2 month run without a league win.

Re: Where I think we stand.

The way I see it, novice manager, lots of new players, new style of play. We're doing OK. What's important is that we are moving forward. Rome wasn't built in a day. It took Coppell 2 full seasons, a lot of shit signings and his fair share of poor results to get it right. I remember the bollocks wri...

Re: Jaap Stam to Leicester?

Yes but he had a whole pre-season to get us playing the way he wanted to. He wouldn't have that time if he jumped ship now. As another post above states, could you imagine him walking in and getting Huth and Morgan to pass out from the back. More importantly, he had a whole pre season and a transfe...

Wasn't even original either as WoodleyRoyal beat him/her to it by several posts. 8) Funny thing is, that's why I did it. You all fell for woodleys one and I was seeing if you were all stupid enough to fall for it again, which you were and it was no surprise Mods must have deleted all those posts wh...

Re: FA Cup 16/17

He has to take full responsibility for his actions, the betting company didn't make him do it but they willingly created the environment for him to do it. In the light of wider betting issues in football, that was pretty irresponsible.

No bet, no pie eating.

Re: FA Cup 16/17

I'm not so sure. Wouldn't surprise me if the betting company paid him to do it as a publicity stunt. It's the way he moves forward out if the dugout to eat the pie, as if maximising the chances of being caught on camera. However, as others have said, it's the betting company who are primarily at fau...

Re: Murty, Rangers interim Manager?

Celtic have proven themselves over the years, in fact I'd put them on a similar table to other former European champions like Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest. Sure, they nearly scalped Manchester City twice. They also got scalped themselves by Lincoln Red Imps. Since Rangers got demoted , Celtic h...

Re: Murty, Rangers interim Manager?

Given that Celtic are walking away with the league with what amounts to a Championship side, it does make you wonder how much it would actually take for Rangers to make a fight of it. This the same 'championship' side that very nearly scalped Man City home and away in the champions league ? Yeah, a...
