Re: given that jack wilshire is the worlds best..

LOL @ Pep destroying Wilshires credentials! "We have lots of players like him in our B team" yet give it a few years and they will try and bully buy him  Why? Big reason they are after Cesc is taking advantage of his Catalan roots and the fact he has always states he wants to ...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Why can't the FA or whoever runs the game in this country just say that any Football Club that goes into Administration is immediately expelled from the Premier / Football League? Wouldn't this enforce clubs to live more within their means? Because it would destroy the notion that England has the b...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2010/20011

In Serie A you've had the incidents with Parma/Lazio (their owners going bankrupt but managing to just stay afloat), Fiorentina/Torino (again bankrupt but this time they went into Liquidation (new clubs born)), Juventus (match fixing scandal etc "Calciopoli") People can take digs at the It...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2010/20011

Just look at that Bundesliga table --four clubs have shared the last seven league titles, and the three not named Bayern now occupy positions amongst the bottom five Can you imagine anything like it in the Premier League with 10>9 games left in the season? Or in Spain? Or Italy? Real Sociedad came ...

Re: The special one

No Fixed Abode Reports suggesting he could be returning to Chelsea and Carlo is off to Roma.

I would be surprised if that happens because of the way he was booted out of Chelsea and I can't see Abramovich changing his ways.

Royal With Cheese The Darren Caskey of Brazil.

Not quite, R9 actually achieved alot before he got fat whereas Caskey didn't achieve anything.

Re: Ronaldo retires

If it weren't for the injuries while at Inter I would go as far as saying he would have been close to Pele and Maradona.

There hasn't been anyone since R9 and at his peak he had no weaknesses.

Re: The January transfer thread

Reports of the bid for Aguero and Godin by Chelsea are false. Sid Lowe, the Spanish football correspondent for the guardian has come out in the last few days saying that the Atleti owner and director Marin is known to be a liar and is doing this as publicity to reassure their fans that they have Agu...

Re: Richard Keys and Andy Gray

The only reason it's out there is because they said / did it... Yes they did indeed say/did it but you don't find it quite odd that after the comments regarding Sian Massey, footage of incidents that took places months ago has found it's way into the public domain to add fuel to the fire that was j...

Re: Richard Keys and Andy Gray

I am interested in this notion of them being stitched up. What does that actually mean? Nobody set them up to say / do what they said. Nobody suggested these were the views they should hold. In fact I believe it is expressly in their (very modern) Contracts of Employment with Sky that such behaviou...

Re: The January transfer thread

Rumours that Milan have signed Ganso from Santos (never heard of him, apparently this is very big news) Atletico Madrid renegotiate Sergio Aguero's contract and reduce his buy out clause by quite a lot Funny that I've read that Inter were close to signing him with the Leonardo doing some last minut...

Zammo Gary Lineker. Give me the ball, and it was in the back of the net. Although, as I am always reminded by those I used to play with, I had a habit of 'straying offside' on numerous occassions (i.e. every single match).

Re: In Rafa we trust...

I think he is a decent manager. Liverpool fans aren't mugs and took him to their heart, the team played some decent football under Benitez, and the side that finished 2nd a couple of seasons back is the best side the club has had in the past decade or so (which doesn't say much, I know). That said ...

Re: In Rafa we trust...

cmonurz So since the middle of this year, Benitez has come to 'mutual agreement' on about 7 years worth of managerial contracts. Good work.

I would hope so to, seeing as finding a job to meet his lofty ambitions will have all but disappeared after this latest outburst.

Re: In Rafa we trust...

Maybe a liitle bit harsh especially as he got Valencia to win 2 La Liga titles and IIRC the EUFA Cup before he came over here and Valencia did reach a Champions League final but I'm not sure whether he was in charge then. If so he has got teams to Champions League finals 3 times in 10 years which i...

Re: In Rafa we trust...

What took Liverpool 6 years, Inter found out in 6 months; that Benitez is an over-rated, over-hyped average manager, who got lucky one night in Istanbul and has been professionally propped up by that single result for evermore. His tactics are blatantly obvious; come in to a club and demand unreaso...

Inter Milan are 7th in Seri e A and 13 points off top spot, occupied by AC Milan. The pressure is on and he reportedly wanted more money made available in January. He said: "There are three possibilities (for the club). "One, 100 per cent support for the coach and buy four or five players...
