Re: Stams philosophy

      The philosophy is literally the whole reason we are in the top 6. The team are massively over-achieving, completely because of the way that Jaap has the team set up. Couldn't agree more. We finished 17th and 19th and then lost all our good players, replacin...

Re: I'm bored - Random football questions

Club you would love to see in the Premier League Celtic and Rangers: 60,000 crowds, fantastic derby games and some real edge to their other games on occasion. Let them join the Championship next year, and it won't be too long after that they can improve and get promotion. Club you'd love to see slid...

Re: Best/Worst Pundit

Best:
Chris Sutton was good recently. Jermaine Jenas is good. Gary Neville might be the best.

Worst
Glenn Hoddle has been a right miseryguts recently, spoiling the England games almost as much as the players.

John Madejski's Wallet I'm assuming Chalobah and Fabregas are going to get retrospective red cards for that brawl.

If not that would be a travesty

Fabregas might get three games though - there was a slap around the face of Fernandhino.

If not that would be a travesty Particularly as he did the same thing McCleary got a straight red for at Barnsley Neville called it correctly in the Sky commentary: Chalaboah did the right thing in the situa...

Re: Championship 2016-17 - General Discussion

Do people need any more proof that the Championship is a gash standard? Competitive so entertaining, but a really sh*t standard. Shit standard compared to PL/Bundesliga/La Liga ofc. Compared to most other leagues in Europe I reckon it's equal if not better. Exactly. Norwich (and Villa) struggling a...

Re: The England Manager Disaster Thread sponsored by Big Fat Sam's pint of wine.

Shuffling the deckchairs. Won't matter one jot without looking at the players five to ten years away from being pros. Wenger would do that though. He could take control of all England Men's football, from schoolboys up, getting them playing the right way, and not losing talented Arsenal strikers to...

Re: The England Manager Disaster Thread sponsored by Big Fat Sam's pint of wine.

I think he is an awful manager, but feel for him here. I don't think I even want him to lose his job any more. Being set up by journalists is not a crime. Consorting with real criminals would be but not this. Maybe even discussing things with real criminals would be OK if he really did say the bit a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a) sponsored by southern softies go north

Some absolute tit texting radio berks to say Garath should pay for everyone's tickets and travel if we lose. I really do despair about Reading fans sometimes Garath is not a dirty player (this is his first card this season) so I'll be interested to see exactly what he did to be sent off. From what ...

Re: Next England Manager

I was mortally disappointed with the appointment, but he won his first game with the last kick - perhaps we will benefit from a lucky manager for a couple of years now.

Also, the defence looked a little better (I agree about Stones) and the passing that avoided Rooney looked quite good.

Re: Next England Manager

Horrible news. He has been sacked twice because his teams played rubbish football.

We'll get lowest-common denominator football from now on in an era when we will have some of the best players in the world.

So how would it go over having another Italian as your nation's new footballing Overlord? :D He does know the English players, and footballing sensibilities there, having coached there before. I'd be happy with that. This made me laugh: "Gary Lineker, Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard hav...

Re: Next England manager poll

That is an awful selection. Generally, I would be happy with anybody but Sam Allardyce, but Hoddle has just spent the last two months talking himself out of the job for me: I have never heard anybody with a duller view of football. Of the English lot it should be Pardew, but in truth it has to be a ...

Their squad will probably be weakened by poor signings, injuries and returning to the mean, but they should all remember how to play well enough for some success to keep their unique fan-base happy and clapping away - maybe a trophy or a glorious European night and qualification for the knockout sta...
