Re: Oxford (A)

Think this one likely to be first away league game I miss, actually in Oxford for research trip when tickets released. :|

Re: Wigan (A)

Clyde1998 Tomorrow marks two weeks until we play Wigan and the tickets for this one haven't gone on sale yet. I had a look on the Wigan website and they don't appear to be selling tickets to home fans. :?

Any ideas what's going on with this?

Any chance of it being postponed?

Re: That Mbengue own goal

Feel like this needs it's own thread so we can discuss it in all it's glory. https://twitter.com/EdRyding/status/1740831312192168343?t=0-uYmyP1-_ny3EC9kYpcLQ&s=19 I think for some reason he thinks absent mindedly that we have already conceded for whatever reason and is kicking the ball in frust...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cheltenham Town (a)

Bindon looked assured when he came on. Everyone else just a bit off pace/swamped by a harder working side.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cheltenham Town (a)

I'll take the point. After some strong away performances, we got swamped there. Cheltenham pressed hard and kept the press up until they brought on the small striker. 1-0 was probably fair. 2-0 was a farce. Then we discovered how to cross. We had another spell in second half where we could have nick...

Re: Peterborough (A)

Yeah, arrived late and sat pretty much by myself to the left of main entrance. May have been low numbers (perhaps unsurprising on Boxing day), but in good voice.

Also suggests a few 100 ST holders purchase and then don't show. Saw empty seats at Orient, for example.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (a)

Well was fun. Posh were probably the best opposition I've seen this season ... and we matched them. Not saying we weren't under cosh for some extended spells but our attacks looked threatening, we were never completely done for, it was a proper game. So, yeah, same three shone (Dorsett, Smith, Craig...

Re: BFTG - Wigan

A bit scrappy in places but, once it went 2-0, basically a straight forward home win.

Best players the same few who've impressed since November - Smith, Craig, Dorsett.

Gratifying to see Azeez slowly but surely come good.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (a)

not starting a BFTG thread as I'm staying over in a B&B near the ground. That was solid, almost good. A proper away day. We had one moment of real awfulness then broadly dominated the game but couldn't quite finish the job. Dorsett makes the defence stronger, I think Wing and Craig are our best ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Eastleigh (a)

Thoughts over three points *while the protest is much needed and, as far as I can see, widely supported on and off the pitch, we've had three tennis ball protests and as far as I can tell, conceded within minutes of each one. The first goal, when it came, was so simple. Couple of passes around the b...

PieEater Friday night - out

slight twitch at that - checked the last trains, so I think all good.

Had a really nice long weekend away in Cheltenham this summer. Lido swims every morning, bit of steam tren action. Lovely stuff.

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

But does an owner need to bank enough money to cover the length of all the contracts offered to players? What happens if an owner agrees to bankroll everything, then gets hit by some kind of industrial crisis which sees their income collapse? Or the owner dies and their heirs just want to take thei...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Carlisle United (h)

I like Dorsett - he's a strong, fast, steady left back. More tellingly, in the games I've watched with him in the side, we've played better and looked more solid.

Stranded
Silver Fox What if Oxford v Grimsby doesn't produce a result?

Oxford will be forced to play twice on the same night as we are the only club in the Royal County so can force them to. We also get to pick their team.

Nice!

Re: MATCHWATCH : Carlisle United (h)

I wonder what it's like living in Carlisle. Loads of great countryside nearby so probs gr8 if you've got money and time, but also probs gash if you are young and looking to make your way in life I thought it was surprisingly ok when I went a few years ago. But yeah probably not that much work. Ther...

Silver Fox You'd have to be some sort of heartless weirdo to not enjoy the reaction from Azeez after he notched last night, lovely stuff

Just watched the highlights and, yeah, grinned broadly at his reaction/celebration.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

That was pretty tense but also a solid away win. The difference in attitude at the end, compared with Shrewsbury, very noticeable. The ludicrously taken throw-in helped. I think we've seen some real development of the squad. Dorsett is a good left back, Craig and Wing the better options in midfield....
