Blakey's Right Peg Surely if they were willing to accept a deal in installments Liverpool would have done this a while ago?

They don't want to pay 8m for a player they sold for £500,000

Probably not all in one go, but I'm sure they wouldn't be particularly bothered if it was in installments.

Re: Andersen not happy at not being allowed to leave

Bit of a shame this, always thought he looked really promising and has been unlucky to be stuck behind Feds and McCarthy. Made a sublime save versus Bristol Rovers (where he is very highly regarded after his loan spell) during pre-season a couple of years ago IIRC.

Re: FA cup Fifth Round draw

Luton away would be good, despite it being a colossal shitheap.

Wouldn't mind Millwall either. Not too fussed about MK, went there during pre-season a few years back and it's nothing special.

Re: Rivalry

Aside from the obvious clubs, I used to think we were generally held in high regard among a number of neutrals.

Smallish club who mostly try to play the right way and enjoy good success without spending bucket loads of cash.

Apparently I was wrong!

On that season's form it would probably be Sidwell with Kitson not far behind.

Re: Spurs predictions

Hoping we can keep it tight early doors. If we are still level late on I would fancy us to go and win it, but I've got a horrible feeling we will struggle with their pace and be out of it by half-time.

Re: World Cup Qualification - Brazil 2014

That's a shocking result for Wales, Serbia looked toothless at Hampden Park on Saturday against the Jocks.

Bit of a shocker for Northern Ireland as well. Not being able to see of Luxembourg at home is not a good result by any means.

Pleased for Pearce to have got on and scored.

How did he do defensively? I don't imagine Oman put them under too much pressure.

Re: Classic RFC moments, 21st century

First game for RFC in the Prem. They're playing Middlesborough and I don't have a ticket. The sun beams down and I listen to the match on the radio in the garden. At half-time we are 2-0 down and all of my hopes are shredded but, I must carry on! I get another beer at half-time and then:- WE SCORE!...

Re: Jem Karacan - High Average Speed

Jem is arguably, if not obviously our hardest working player and one of our most important players. We wouldn't be as sucessful without him and his quality. His distribution of the ball and his ability to control the midfield are outstanding. I would say his distribution of the ball has improved of...

Not surprised really, I seem to remember him spending most of his time at Stamford Bridge desperately trying to chase down Eden Hazard.

Re: Morrison- The New Leroy Lita?

Royal Lady Plus - he put that tweet about the policeman wanting to go for the "big man" - does he mean because he's tall or because of "who he is"? Cos I'm betting the policeman didn't have a scooby who he was!!

I could be wrong, but given that he is 6"4 I took it to mean his height.

Re: Alex Pearce

Very surprised that he is not in contention to start for Ireland during qualifying, given his main competition.

Hopefully he'll get a game against Oman and Trapattoni will see his credentials.

Re: Morrison- The New Leroy Lita?

Not his finest hour by any means and I am sure McDermott will read him the riot act, but don't think this is serious enough to show a promising young player the door. Judging by his tweets he seems your typical dim footballer but in his defence it does sound like The Sun (unsurprisingly) have exagge...

Re: Official Deadline Day Thread......

interesting to note that Watford have signed a whole team of 11 from Udinese on loan... Is that even allowed? Suppose so. Although isn't there a limit on the number of loanees you can have in a matchday squad? Used to be 5. Not for International loans.. Mind you not keen on the idea..even Zola didn...
