Re: AFCON

End of the Gambia v Cameroon match is mental. Cameroon were 1-2 down with minutes to go. Now winning 3-2 and Gambia have just had a goal disallowed for a deliberate handball, and you won't see a more obvious handball, that somehow the ref misses and VAR had to give.

Re: Refereeing

Here's as good a place as any to put it as I keep forgetting. Jnr II's team had a really good ref doing their match a couple of weeks ago. Made clear decisions and talked to the players throughout explaining why he had or hadn't given decisions and praised the kids for good play. Little things like ...

Re: Weekend Football

I thought the same sangers. You hope he'd come back with a bit of humility and say all the right things about thanking Brentford for supporting him and wanting to do his best to turn their season around even if in private he's thinking about leaving. You'd hope his agent would be telling him this an...

Sutekh Tunisia 0-1 Namibia

Rank outsiders (115 in the world) turning over a tournament favourite in the 88th minute.

Couldn't decide whether the Namibian keeper was having as good a game as the commentators reckoned or if Tunisia were just rubbish in front of goal.

Re: Confrimed - Abbey and Holmes going

Still seems bizarre that a player who has struggled to get into a League 1 team this year is heading to the Premier League (if only for a few months). What are the Luton fans saying?

Re: Weekend Football

Have Man United considered letting S'Alex sit on the bench. That always used to guarantee a few extra penalties a season.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

How does it work for promoted clubs like Forrest? Are the EFL and Premier League rules the same so they can use 3 years of accounts.

Re: Players at clubs who you had completely forgotten about

Is he injured again at the moment? Just suddenly realised when watching the match yesterday that he was nowhere to be seen and I couldn't remember when I last saw him on a pitch.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Given the way the club was being run, I reckon we'd have wasted the Premier League money getting ineffectual players in on huge wages. They we'd have wasted the parachute payments having forgotten to put relegation clauses into contracts and chasing the 'dream' again.

BRO_BOT KDB's new barnet is a no, for me!

I get that his rehab has taken some time but surely there's got to be a better hobby to have tried than trying to grow yourself some 90s boyband curtains.

Re: Ex Players

Other teams had worked us out by the World Cup, Ince's plan A wasn't that great and he didn't have a plan B. I think that probably did as much for the player's morale as the points deduction. They were getting sent out every week knowing the game plan was shit.

Re: Confirmed - Ejaria gone

i still believe Reading is still an attractive option for a lot of players. Not convinced we are in any way, shape or form an attractive option unless we're signing players on loan whose wages are covered 100% by their parent club. Ejaria going doesn't mean his wages are necessarily off the books, ...

Also am I the only one thinking Gakpo is getting a bit of an easy ride, he's been way less effective than Nunez and seems to have escaped any criticism.

Are we putting an asterix next to the hattrick against Spurs as they'd been down to 9 men for a while before he scored?
