Tinrib, I'm sorry but you sound like you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Actim measures stats from games. I'm not sure exactly what they measure, but I would imagine it is things like, assists, goals, pass completion, No passes made, tackles won, saves made. /quote] You lose all...

Re: Is Marcus Overrated

A team is made of players , not the other way around. Without individual performances the team will not reach its goals. Team results are borne from what each individual achieves. The Actim stats are for more weighted to individual criteria than collective. (lets face it they are actually marking e...

Re: Is Marcus Overrated

Lost the plot LOL. There is no coincidence is there that the best team ever in the history of the second tier of English football, who effectivley walked the division, just happened , by chance to have 7 of the top 10 players (from memory) included in the end of season Actim stats?? Does that make ...

Re: Is Marcus Overrated

Thats a massive assumption into the analysis of how Actims stats are compiled is'nt it? Or do you know better??!! No, it's an appreciation of how stats are compiled. They may have weighting or a difficulty rating factored into their model, but I seriously doubt it. With all due respect to you, but ...

Re: Is Marcus Overrated

There are too many variables for statistics to give any meaningful insight into an individuals ability. I agree. You'd never see RFC spending £1,000s on statistical analysis tools like ProZone. I knew that was coming! ProZone is more about analysing the way a team operates and picking up on trends...

Re: Is Marcus Overrated

If you're being appriased set questions are generally measured against statistical data ( or in other words your performance) leading to a score. Actim just applies the same methodolgy but in far more involved and complex way. But then again if you apply no value to giving your team or receiving an...

Re: Is Marcus Overrated

Tinrib
Hoop Blah As for Actim, or any other stats for that matter, being a good representation of an individual players ability, thats just a load of tosh.

Have you never appriased or been appraised in the workplace?

Relevance?

FYI Unfortunately I'm not a professional footballer

Re: Is Marcus Overrated

I cant be arsed to argue the toss anymore on this with Rich@Eaststand. Rich thinks he is, I say thats bollocks. Out to the wider audience. Does this really need another thread and the same regurgitated opinions? I think he is not over rated - just rated as a pretty decent all round 'keeper. I think...

Walcott has the potential to have a fantastic career and to go on and achieve everything the game has to offer. He appears to be the natural successor to Owen on the international stage and it will be to Walcotts advantage if Owen makes a full recovery from his latest injury. He'll have no better cl...

Given the current dire straights we are in terms of strikers I wouldn't be surprised if Kits got a call up if not played. Then again, if Bent and Johnson can't force themselves into the team ahead of Crouch and Defoe then what chance does Kitson have. I doubt he'll ever be fit for enough games to p...

Shorey will rise to the challenge no problem The guys so composed a class act. I don't think he'll make it, Ashley Cole and Wayne Bridge are both still young and from what I watched last night Leighton Baines is the future now. Not only Baines but Barry as well. Not to mention Konchesky who I think...

This and other thread just go to show why some might think the yank is overrated. Tinrib, Spacey etc, your absolutely clueless and your blind defence of Marcus is exacty why the fella initially said he's overrated! He's got to be in our all time top 3 keepers but those who can't admit that he has w...

Remember that Hungary is the nation that gave the world the foremost establishment for treating cerebral palsy patients and getting them to walk and talk. Of course, how can the man in the street let such a nugget slip his mind! I think the point was that we're in probably the richest league in wor...

Re: Sonko for France

Reading Abbey But he could be in contention for the Sky-televised visit of Arsenal on Sunday October 22.[/i]

So that would then be 9 weeks out, not just missing the two games the club hoped for originally!

Sonko for France? Well if Boumsong can get a game then he can't be far off.

Didn't really see any punches thrown and he was with a couple of older adults who were protecting him. Was a big mob surrounding him and a bit of shoving. Ended up being forced down the entrance to Y25 before tango's escorted him out. Was told to take his shirt off and plenty of people were trying ...

RoyalBlue That's one of them! Ricky was the other. Keeper and centre back?

Indeed they were. Shaun (the keeper) is now at a non league side and Ricky (CB) was at Basingstoke last season.

By Basingstoke I think you mean Thatcham, and I think Shaun is now at Staines.

Why does it have to be Football matches? Surely a generalisation as sweeping as that should include parking your car for any reason, which is in fact the case. (good debate by the way  ) Your right it doesn't have to be football but the fact you've gone to football almost guarantee's yo...

I had my car broken into at the top of Acre Road whilst watching Reading in the early days of Madejski Stadium. I also had my car broken into just off Prospect Park whilst at Elm Park too. When I reported the breakins the Police blamed the football. At the time I did point out that it wasn't anythin...

I didn't have any problems at all. Straight off at J11 at about 7 o'clock, parked up within 5 minutes and a quick 10 minute stroll to the ground in time for a quick pint. Back in town by quarter past 10. I don't see what the problem is and only so much blame can be put at the club and councils door...

The club have killed what was initially a decent system.

They won't be bothered if half the tickets aren't used, the only thing that will cause concern is that those non-attendees won't be spending money on food etc whist they sit at home counting their cheap points.
