Re: Making a name for themselves?

Dick Habbin had a stand named after him at Cambridge United folowing his time there so he must have done well (or he bought them a stand!)

Dave Crown was a something of nothing winger for us and then went on to be top scorer at the clubs he went to after us (admitedly in lower divisions.)

Re: Villa Prediction thread

Reading 6 v Villa 3 Okay you can scoff at such a prediction but no one would have believed the 7 v 4 at Portsmouth or 6 v 4 at Tottenham. My thinking is this. Doyle has not scored for ages and is due a goal. He is too good a player not to be scoring regularly in the Prem (hoping he may read this and...

Archie's penalty Hmm I'd love it to be 2-1 Reading but I fear it will be the other way round

So thats Reading 2-1 then. Even the other way round it looks okay.

As is the lad who played the boy in 'About a Boy' with Hugh Grant and is now in a another sitcom type thingy on a TV channel prob...

2 v 0 to West Ham Not the score I want to see but given the poor performances at both Bolton and Swansea, unless Sir Steve is miracle worker mode I can't see where a turn round good enough to win is going to come from. Top selling crisp flavour, Smokey Bacon. Most popular half time beverage, tea. Av...

I remember Gary Peters being a pretty decent right back for us. But then I was quite young when he was playing and it was only fourth division fare being served up. Be honest, Murts wins hands down as he is the best right back we have in the highest division. However, looking forward my vote goes to...

Best season was last year and winning the Championship. The memories of that day in Leicester will live with me forever. Until we win the Premiership (or possibly the FA Cup or a decent European trophy it will not be surpassed). Worst, who cares. Probably some relegation year back in the seventies o...

So when the team for the cup game at Birmingham is announced and no doubt will include De La Cruz, Bikey, Long, etc can we stop reffering to them as the reserves/second team. These guys are now all proven first team players. We have a squad of first team players, its just that due to the crazy rule ...

I think its good but you could change the fourth line to end in ... 'royal' rather than '10 foot four', e.g Makes me feel... a diehard royal; ...a loyle royal; ...I've lost interest now. Its crap don't sing it.

Mentioned often around these boards, and by the looks rightly so. A legend at Reading. Being one who is more young than old, I wasn't lucky enough to see him in action or know how he played. Just wondering, what did actually make THE Robin Friday so special? Is he comparable to the current Reading ...

Can anyone who saw THAT goal, describe it to us less fortunate people who were not able to witness it? That will be interesting I've heard it described by four or five people who all saw it and all descibed it as the best goal they'd ever seen. However from there descriptions you'd think they where...
