Re: Injuries: new setup needed at the club?

In the US Pauno was criticised for his intense training and he wouldn't tolerate any nonsense from his players. You put 100% in or you were out of the team. If he's that hardcore then it would explain plenty of strains and pulls. Plus, players conveniently pick up strains when they're not happy wit...

Re: Injuries: new setup needed at the club?

Comes a point you have to stop blaming luck. Our injury record hasn't been great for a long time. But it's now been thoroughly abysmal for about 4 months with little sign of let up. Players are still going out as quickly as they come back. We're still getting delays and set backs. Luck doesn’t skew ...

Re: When will Pauno be sacked?

Millsy I guess it's not just him is it, it's the whole backroom staff that would need to be paid off/ replaced right? (except if QF stays as caretaker)

Yep

Re: When will Pauno be sacked?

WestYorksRoyal Could FFP and compensation be an issue? Is it possible that we can't afford to sack him, or would need EFL approval?

Possible, probably not likely

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

YorkshireRoyal99 Possibly he has but if it was as easy as that, or if he felt like there was a problem, then he would have done. Again, hard to tell if this is the manager's incompetency or another issue.

It's clearly a group effort, but one person has overall accountability.

Re: When we had wingers….

Hate to give such a cliche answer, but Little and Convey, with Kebe and McAnuff on the bench. The right balance of pace and finesse. Fwiw I would certainly count Hoilett as a traditional winger and likewise Azeez. Even Meite is as much a winger as anyone in the England squad or at the big club side...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

This bit about him rushing players back doesn’t seem to fit with the length of time players are out ‘ injured ‘ , and the period of time before Dann was put in the team , weeks after his training partner was playing for Bournemouth ! He just can’t get it right ! I just posted something on another t...

Re: Injuries: new setup needed at the club?

There's a few things been said about rushing players back. And also about set backs and recovery times. In some cases potentially as if these contradict each other. They could be the same thing though. Just that with some players the set backs come before they actually make it on the pitch and becau...

Re: Ex Players

I’m inclined to think we needed them both Definitely did. I was just trying to make a point about Al-Habsi. Anyone who thought he was "awful" clearly didn't see him play in that season. We would have been midtable without him. No one has said he was awful. Overrated - yes. I seem to remem...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

The fact the same player keeps breaking down suggests that player has a problem not the manager. Some people's bodies aren't cut out for top level sport and they only find out about it when they reach the top level of intensity. I know everyone wants a reason for everything because it makes them fe...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

Agree they're probably being rushed back. He's trying to save his job i guess Doing as good a job on that as managing the team yep granted some of that. Its the manager who makes the final decision of if they play isn't it? So if he is bringing people back against medical advice too soon, then its ...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

Yep. Impact injury excuse just looks farcical at this point. Azeez has now broken down three times on return. Re: January Window

Not so bothered if we can't get a fee because his contract is up in 6 months anyway so we won't be losing anything other than a few thousand pounds in a transfer fee when we can just get rid now and save on his wages for the next 6 months which probably still leaves us at a net positive. Aye... Are...
