Re: Reading fan hit by seat - thrown by Reading fan

Royal Biscuitman I know they were innocent victims and I condone the actions of those who threw the seat, but man up for fcuks sake.

Really? Why would you do that?

Re: The Reading "project"

It would have been quite amusing for us to have picked up Poyet with Adkins going to Brighternove - they can't stand him apparently, after some demeaning remark he is alleged to have made a couple of seasons ago. Thank goodness we ended up with Adkins!

Re: Season tickets 2013/14

One arrived yesterday, the other 2 today. Bloody miracle any of them got here, the "not a match tickets" with our address on had slid away from the window in the envelope.

Re: Some good news for Reading.

OFFS! I am supposed to be going to Germany for a couple of days that week - have been desperately trying to make sure I'm still in the UK on the 29th, just about got agreement that we'll go on the 30th - now I'll have to come up with another excuse to delay to the week after. :(

Re: Crawley Predictions

This is my local derby, Crawley is only 7 miles, whereas home games are 65 miles away, so really looking forward to a short trip. We'll scrape a 2-1 as we start the journey that takes us to our second ever FA Cup semi-final.

Re: You'll Never Walk Alone will be played before K.O today.

Like it or not those events changed football forever. Specifically with all seater stadiums, but also lessons from crowd control and emergency services response. I'd like to think if I go to a new ground that the ground will be safe, and that the guy in charge will know what he's doing. Entirely ag...

Re: You'll Never Walk Alone will be played before K.O today.

I found it strange playing another club's anthem, especially one miles away with whom we share little history. However, as a tribute to fellow football fans who tragically lost their lives I felt it was very fitting and well received. Quite. Whether you call it a tribute, a mark of respect, a sign ...

Re: Worst matchday experience?

Late 80s, away at Newport County, standing on sparsely populated away terrace. 5 minutes to go, and 4 or 5 plods come and stand right in front of me and bro. I mean RIGHT in front - on next step - so all we can see is helmet. They could have stood almost anywhere without getting in anyone's way. Cle...

Re: RUMOUR - Danny Guthrie

I'm sure this will fall on death ears, but... Anybody who moans about signing a guy who's 25 yet already has 100 appearances in the prem, came from an excellent academy, and played for a side that came 5th last season is a mong even by HNA standards. Agree 100%. Too many cloth-eared mongs here. Gut...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

For those of us with longer memories, the home kit is more reminiscent of the Kerry Dixon era, and yellow was our away kit back in the days of Robin Friday.

Re: The old Reading club badge

Attempting to understand the logic of the old Reading badge dreamt up by the daughter of the Chairman and the Manager. Yellow/Light Blue - Away kit? Dark Blue/White - Home kit? Home shirt was light blue and white, shorts were navy blue. Away kit was all yellow with light and navy blue trim. And the...

How many did we take to Ashton G8 for the 3-3 draw, I remember it feeling like we had far more than was actually there. I got my leg stuck in between my seat that day... It hurt Best away day EVER.... The loudest I've ever heard our fans - home or away....and the NOISE when those goals went in....d...

Excellent! Narrow hoops all the way round - that's what we need. And I do prefer blue shorts, for some reason. Less Kew-pee-are I suppose.

Re: Financial Fair Play Initiative: the fans' view

You can still invest in infrastructure with no penalty, it's just the playing squad you have to be more frugal with. So they could spend as much as they want on the Academy, stadium, training facilities. All things that can lead to a bigger, better, more valuable club. So the owner of a business is...

Re: Financial Fair Play Initiative: the fans' view

Three of the 24 clubs voted against new regulations to limit investment from owners and curb total spending . The changes will also prevent owners from funding their clubs through loans. So... a club with (say) a new rich owner would be prevented from receiving substantial investment from that owne...
