Re: Rival Watch

Also limited by the EFL on what they could offer in wages compared to us. yep. I'd say all in they've had about as good a deal as us and doing equally as well (squad size and restrictions compared to injuries). Not that they are making a much better stab at it They have drawn a lot of their games a...

Re: Pauno out

but basically injuries have got in his way and without them we’d have promotion form? err what? Where did you come up with that one? The “best run of form” was basically a run of wins wasn’t it? So with no injuries and a more consistent squad able to implement Pauno’s plan, the suggestion is that w...

Re: Points Deduction Incoming!

http://bit.ly/STAR-EFL-Decision Link to STAR’s assessment of the EFL decision following discussions with the club read it as pretty positive really. Guess we'll need to be a bit careful about giving starts to academy lads this season - but we should have the squad to do that. Could certainly do wit...

Re: Points Deduction Incoming!

So we need to get through this season and 2022/23 adhering to the EFL imposed restrictions before being in a position to break free. We really need to offload Moore and maybe Joao in the summer. Swift will leave anyway and Rafael will be released. That would take four big wages off the books. Maybe...

Re: Rival Watch

dunno, they'd have about the same points as us wouldnt they without deductions?. And far as i know they haven't had about 16 injuries at any point in time Started with a smaller squad though iirc. Also limited by the EFL on what they could offer in wages compared to us. yep. I'd say all in they've ...

Re: Pauno out

I think he should go now. I cannot see his style of playing being successful in the Championship. It’s too intricate, too narrow, too predictable. On the occasions that it does work it’s a joy to watch but that’s not often enough. I suspect if he stays we will just about stay up but that will be mo...

Re: Pauno out

Maybe the style is different to Stam’s but the whole atmosphere around the club doesn’t feel too dissimilar to those days. Football is predictable and stubborn, give away sloppy goals and don’t create enough for our striker. Similarities are certainly present I don't disagree with this on the whole...

Re: Pauno out

I think you forget how dull some of the Stam football became - the horrendous slow back and forth across the back 4. Don't think we are close to that yet, but granted we were dismally poor on Tuesday - and in other games as well. At least we seem to have other gears now, just we don't consistently ...

Re: Excitement v boredom.

When we play it well, its exciting and enjoyable to watch. Forest was good fun, Stoke, enjoyed the Barnsley game, QPR was great, Preston, other halves of football here and there Too often we just play negatively though, Sheff utd being the nadir, but plenty of others fall into that. It doesn't look ...

Re: Rival Watch

On another note I think it is worth mentioning the job Wayne Rooney is doing at Derby. It was all a bit of a joke when he first got the job but he has got them fighting for their lives and picking up decent results. Started the season with about 12 fit pros too. Yep, basically a slightly more limit...

Re: Rival Watch

Jokanovic replaced by Heckingbottom Did well at Barnsley for the duration but has done very little since. Very  he’s been given a four and a half year deal very confused by that one Jokanovic going doesn’t surprise me, rumoured fall out with lack of funds and basing on their performance on T...

Re: Pauno out

Who knew that in order to stop Millsy from posting you just had to mention Reading are in 20th place? Yeah that really stopped me posting didn't it. Just don't need to regurgitate what I've explained elsewhere at length, and am trusting people aren't total f*cktards and are aware of the 6 point ded...

Re: Rival Watch

not watched them this season, but think they are an possession at all costs team. Stamball-esque. It really could be a very dull game on Sat, with them probably snatching a 1-0 win. The Piroe seems to score a lot for them and obvs a good signing

Re: Pauno out

It was unforgivable then but everyone lapped it up because “7th was still the best we’ve finished in ages”. Now people are starting to see what we saw, it’s just a dying shame we’ve had to waste an entire season to get there - not to mention it could still get worse. I don't think its a case of 'i ...

Re: Pauno out

It is the nature of how we lose games that makes me lean towards wanting Paunovic out. Had we gone for it against Sheffield United and hit the post a couple of times, put them under pressure etc we would all be sitting here saying we were unlucky and gave it a good go. I think anyone sensible can a...
