Final game of the season. Birmingham City 0-1 Reading Michael Gilkes scores late with the most unwanted Reading goal in history. Birmingham denied a play off spot. Anyone else at this game? Genuinely terrifying exprience trying to make it to the station afterwards. Game held up due to 2 mass pitch i...

NL Results: Saturday 3rd March Bedfont & Feltham 5-0 Godalming Town Made the short journey to watch this. Its a great venue for spotting planes. Right by the perimitter to Heathrow. It must also be the closest 2 separate football grounds come together. You could literally kick a ball to ...

Went to Canterbury City 2-1 Biggleswade in the Vase 6th Round. Played at Faversham Town. Crowd of 602 must have been split 50/50, 3 coach loads from Bigleswade. Amazingly all 4 clubs still in started in the 1st Qualifying Round. Thats 8 ties to get this far. To put that in perspetive, a National Lea...

Re: Record Watch 2018/19

2 left.

Luton 110
Barnsley 107

Amazing to think that by the end of the season, 1 of the 2 teams to beat us in that record season would have gone all the way down to the National League and back up again.

FA Vase 5th Round: Sholing 3-1 Sporting Khalsa My 8th Vase game of the season, taking in a game in every round so far. Been to some excellent games in this seasons competition, but I made a bad choice in heading to Sholing. Started off by heading the usual route to the coast via Basingstoke. Mistake...

Re: The Non - League thread

Windsor travel to Biggleswade. Nothing to fear there based on what I saw on Sunday. A local seemed to suggest they were several players light from his last visit, which might explain there recent form. Recent form doesn’t look too shabby to me! The table I’ve looked at shows them 3rd in the league,...

Re: The Non - League thread

FA Vase double header for me this weekend. Saturday: Chertsey Town 5-0 St Austell. About 100 fans made their way up from Cornwall and the team gave as good as they got. But Chertsey were just too strong for them and look a very strong side. In fact, i would go as far as saying they are the best Step...

13:00 Thatcham Town v Melksham Town - reportedly ALL TICKET (according to both clubs' Twitter) :? Officially on safety grounds, but presumably a reaction to the Vase quarter-final last year, which had some trouble that Thames Valley Police later blamed on "Reading FC fans". Melksham alloc...

5th leg of this season's FA Vase adventure.

Shepshed Dynamo 3-0 NKF Burbage. Their ground is in Butthole Lane

A bruising encounter. Games further north at this level are noticeably way more physical than games in the Hellenic, Wessex etc. If lacking in overall quality.

Re: The Non - League thread

I went to Bristol Manor Farm 1 - 2 Highworth Town on Saturday. Its the closet a train line comes to a football ground. The Bristol TM - Sevenbeach line runs almost down the touchline. there is only enough room for one to stand in front of the railway fence. So there was me, poised with camera in han...

Re: Nations League & Friendlies

For me, best part about the Nations League is proper competive games being played on a home/away basis. Games like England/Spain only happened in friendlies or at neutral venues until now.

Like to see the final stages be home/away as well. A 2 legged England/Holland fnal would be awesome.

Re: SpuROFLs

All media reorts saying Barca qualified. I disagree. Not going to happen, but:

Spurs 3-2 Inter
PSV 3-0 Barca
Inter 3-0 PSV
Barca 0-4 Spurs

HTH cancels out.

= Barca finish 3rd.

Re: The Non - League thread

Bournemouth FC 6-0 Newquay I get the impression Cornish football isnt of the highest standard. Newquay have made a decent start in the South West Pennisula league (Step 6) but looked way below Bournemouth's level (Step 5). Minor Pendant alert : ...I feel you ought to ask Bridport (0-6 v Falmouth) o...

Re: The Non - League thread

Bournemouth FC 6-0 Newquay 3rd game in my FA Vase journey this season and decided to take in a bit of a novelty fixture given that most Cornish sides dont enter the competition. Bit of a novelty ground as well. They have a small park all to themselves with a very secluded entrance. The only other w...
