Re: Little joining Pompey

How crap was our deal that Pompey could tease him away given that he's still in my opinion quite a fitness risk and will most likely only ever be a second string player for them. Good luck to him, quality on and off the pitch, shame on us. If he blows his top flight career with a poor season with Po...

Re: Coppell Teamtalk.com interview re: staying on

Coppell said: Now it is the last thing on my mind. I want to be remembered for something else. Are you listening Mr Chairman - Coppell has shown that now is the time to show everyone what you are about - dont waste your opportunity. The fans need to "see" instead of just "hear" ...

Re: 2:30 PM PRESS CONFERENCE REGARDING COPPELL'S FUTURE

Why would he leave if he got us promoted again, for a man often bereft of emotion you could see his delight at the end of the 'record' season. We're not going to be far off the mark next season. If we make it, he'll stay, if we don't, he'll retire, if we are out of contention just after Christmas I ...

Re: RUMOUR - Doyle to Aston Villa £4 million

I'm comforted by his comment that he's happy with us. He moves to a Prem club, expectation, they can't get him up to scratch in a season and it's Premier league career over. He's young, he stays with us, regains his confidence, smashes the Championship, promoted with Reading, establishes himself and...

Re: 2:30 PM PRESS CONFERENCE REGARDING COPPELL'S FUTURE

For me this speaks volumes about the club, SSC, the chairman, the fans, the backroom staff and all and is all part of the continued 'brick by brick' philosophy. The fans are not demanding of constant and instant success and can swallow whatever is chucked at us (despite what you read on HNA). We are...

Re: Theme for Derby ?

Might be a bit premature, but a whole 'Great Escape' plan might be appropriate to have up your sleeve. The fans could sing it knowing that the other results are going our way, or not sing it when they're not. No sure if it would have the motivational effect intended though.

Re: Tottenham Prediction Thread

2-1 URRRRZ Kitson and Lita straddling the break, then Berbatov in the last 10 minutes to make it a nervy ending. Fulham to win against Birmingham 3-2, Bolton to draw with Sunderland 2-2. Final match of the season trogging through a Middle Eastern desert, hope I'm in mobile reception, doh! Keeping th...

Re: Arsenal Predictions

11-1. Going down in style. No one will forget us after 7-4, 6-4 and then this. People will forget Derby's low points record and talk about how we crumbled (like biscuits(men)) for years to come. We'll be famous at last!!! Sorry, delirium has set in. Take him away nurse. Could this mean that if we c...

Re: DLC v Shorey

Johan Cruyff wouldn't agree with you over a requirement to be left footed on the left!

As much as a don't like the depth of criticism on here to any of our players, Nicky is another that could do with a break and some freshening up. I like the proposal, hope it floats.

But it won't.

Re: Arsenal Predictions

In this order - No way, WTF, typical and ah well.

That's 4-0 Arsenal then.

Now if we play Kitson up front with Convey and Little on the wings and Bikey in between defence and midfield it could be a different matter, maybe a 0-0 but it ain't gonna happen.

Re: Who will go down?

Still have Derby, Fulham and Bolton, the latter only achieveing an unprecedented 28 points for third bottom place. 5 Live yesterday had some Bolton fans saying that they believe that even the club management seem the think that relegation is inevitable. When some complain abou the quality of players...

Re: Birmingham Prediction Thread

High tension match. Personally 1-1, Kitson to score. However against my predictions I think Coppell thinks we can achieve 40 points, that's not just his target, so scanning back through the list I've picked this one as one that he thinks we can win. So, Reading 3 Brum 2 Doyle (first goal with his fo...

Re: Who will go down?

I note that Coppell has set a target of 40. This may not be the perenially considered safe mark but actually what he considers we could achieve. My better half and I are forecasting the results for 'our league' for the run in and have us finishing 13th on 36. Then comes The Toon (34), Macams, Brum a...

Royals 2-0, with another 2 goals scored by Lita sitting in Y19, but disallowed and before he is forcibly ejected from the ground.

Would like to see an unchanged defence, Convey to start and Hunt on the right with Kebe on later.

Re: Time to button it, John Madejski

Agreed. I for one am sick of hearing 'our biggest game of the season' and all the optimism that goes with it since just prior to the Bolton match (that we threw away) and then when we lose, ah well we have another number of matches to put it right now. By all means lets motivate the players and crow...

Re: Team for Boro

Not only was I not sure where Kitson or Doyle were leading up front today but I also didn't see either playing as thoroughbred strikers, more attacking mid-fielders. I'm not an advocate of 4-5-1 but this led me to think that maybe we should have tried that formation today with Lita up front. Could i...
