Re: Out of Contract 2022

If Swift leaves us for another championship team he is obviously completely lacking any amibition but if he leaves us for a premier league team he is obviously happy to just sit on the bench and collect his wages.

The only truly good move for him is to stay and keep us up IMO

Re: Rival Watch

Why does not having an academy mean they are more able to sign players from overseas? I don't think it does actually make it any easier, could be wrong, but it obviously makes it easier for them to keep hold of their talents without having them being poached from better clubs/academies in England. ...

Re: Rival Watch

It's basically like a rebate all said and done. Brentford did it well with their use of a B team which stopped other clubs in the UK from easily poaching their players through the youth ranks. Don't think Brentford have an academy / youth system do they? I thought their model was to pick up other c...

I can picture him doing well in the championship, if his wages are affordable there are no negatives I can see. Snap him up.

Re: Freebies

I'd take Anthony Stewart from wycombe, always seemed pretty solid. Looks a bit more athletic than our current centre backs and available more often than mcintyre or dann

Re: Out of Contract 2022

Im guessing they'll offer Hoillet a deal if Ince or Azeez dont stay, and Morrison if Holmes leaves.

From Despair To Where?
Pepe the Horseman Another one on Kia's books

Where have you got this?

He's on the books of MN2S, the same agency as Paul Ince.

Google MN2S, they don't represent half the people on their site.

Re: Brian Carey

Interesting one, obviously have no idea what his actual role was or is going to be here but from the outside it seems Spur's recruitment has been pretty bad for a few years.

Hopefully a step in the right direction though.

Re: Liam moore

But, as I said, they are 2 months into the MLS season and there are quite tight limits on squad size and wages. I don't see there being too many teams with both the squad and cap room to take him on at this time. The salary cap allows for an average wage of $5k a week. Mannone went there but he wen...

Pepe the Horseman
Who Moved The Goalposts?

That's not a particularly attractive salary given the knowledge and experience needed.

At least you get a day off for your birthday.

And 25% off merch, because it very rarely ends up on sale

Re: Ex Players

Loader is only 21 and has 12 goals and 4 assists in 30 for Porto B this season, as well as a goal on his Porto debut. Think its probably still too early to right him off as not making it. If he does leave, I'd be interested to see what he would do at somewhere like MK dons or Ipswich.

Re: Out of Contract 2022

Not convinced by any combination of Mcintyre, Holmes, Dann and Morrison tbh, any one of them alongside a fully fit Liam Moore (c) would do a decent job though. They didn’t last year I think our record was slightly better with him that without him, and dont think he was fully fit but yeah I doubt he...

Re: Next Reading Manager

My two pennorth The coming few years are a time for the club to take stock, and truly learn from the reckless profligacy that got it into this mess. The "proven manager" route automatically entails the incomer expecting a transfer budget, which might be impossible to provide, and is parad...

Re: Out of Contract 2022

There don't seem to be many teams left in the Prem that play with a number 10, and not sure he's ever shown enough defensively to play in a 3 which wouldnt get the best out of him anyway.
