Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (h) sponsored by cup fever

Aluko watch report. BBC South Today showed the squad training today (Puscas was there) and in the distance I spotted a little chap strolling along, just as he did when turning out for us-the returning hero(?) Mr Aluko. Bowen implied just a few changes but not a full scale change with, suggested by t...

Re: Upset the Apple cart.

Not much Gunter could instagram about his Reading experience even if he wanted. Great day at the Hogz with my bestie @gmccleary12 and the Under 12's. Nearly done a goal. Me and @mccleary12 sat on benches together eating our Happy Meals. Shat in a bucket outside the building as wasn't allowed to poo...

Re: Upset the Apple cart.

Any stats ZIP on how many times he turns his back, allows the player room to run inside, ducks out of a header or indeed how many finger points and back passes he does in a game? All in all not really what you want from a full-back and as posted earlier the good news is that it looks as thoug...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

One cautionary note on sacking managers-Charlton.
Weren't they around 10th in the Premier League when they decided that Curbishley could take them no further?

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Would love Bournemouth to go down Obviously I feel the same. Having lived here and seen the rise and rise of the football club I acknowledge a massive streak of envy because, at the same time, we have slipped back to lower-mid Championship. Don't get me wrong, I respect what a great job the manager...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

I think calls to play TAA in midfield rather miss the point that, whilst Klopp hasn't 'invented' the role that he and Robertson play, that role is tailored to his strengths. Put him in a midfield three and you lose those dreamy crosses. Put him wide midfield and he has a man on him most of the time...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

I wonder if Eddie Howe will be next to go. It does look as though his players are without direction at the moment after 2 stuffings to nil at lowly Brighton and even more lowly West Ham. Sack the manager? Watford have done it and improved. Everton have done it and improved West Ham have done it and ...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

What seems odd to me is that for Man Utd games the commentators go on about how good certain players have been lately and then the team loses again to somebody not particularly good. BTW Shaw is a diabolical defender so please keep him in the side Ole (If you are still there). Tbf so is Alex...

Re: Blackett to Turkey.

Not sure Blackett was rated that highly at United. He got prematurely promoted to the first team squad because of an injury crisis and didn't seem to adjust that well. He then spent 2 years on loan at Birmingham and Celtic where he made a total of 11 appearances. United are the sort of club where, ...

Re: BFTG Fulham

Watched on TV and couldn't believe my ears when I heard Bowen yell at Gunter as Cavaleiro attacked him again "Stop the cross and don't turn your oxf*rd back" It could have been me shouting from y21 over these past few years. It confirms to me that Bowen has him sussed. . Was interesting h...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Anyone know anything about Shandon Baptiste? As an avid FM player I notice he is very good on the latest game and was seemingly let go for nothing many moons ago. Anyone recall his time here? No idea on his time with us but he was pretty good for Oxford against Man City last night I thought. Very m...

Re: Blackett to Turkey.

Don't know anything about him personally but surely having come through the Man Utd system, England U21s and talked of as a future England international (as all Man Utd English players are  ) he must surely be pissed off at , approaching his prime, being at times 2nd or 3rd choice left-back a...

Re: VAR

According to IFAB the VAR implementation in the PL has NOT followed the ruling body guidelines on ‘clear and obvious’. Seems like the PL referees have taken their own initiative and are trying to make the technology do something that it can’t currently do. NO SHIT SHERLOCK https://www.msn.com/en-gb...

Re: VAR

Fwiw I thought VAR worked just fine at the World Cup - but what I don't really understand is what different 'protocols' were followed there. I don't recall all these drawing lines on screens in Russia. Some interesting* stats from Italy from its first full season of use, 18/19. 346 games 1,736 chec...
