Re: Ex Players

Do wonder whether Richards' career will just fade into obscurity? Perhaps the dream move to Bayern could end up being the move that finished his career in reality. Probably end up in Scotland or Turkey He got a move to the Premier League then spent a whole year out with a serious injury. In any cas...

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

Budget for last season was £16m. About 10% of that would have been Liam Moore. The cap would not have included a lot of the academy players as that is outside of the EFL ruling as well and deducted from the P&S calculations too. We were probably still paying a big chunk of Puscas’ wages too. Dou...

Re: another, thants right another embargo for late PAYE payments - a new embargo

Just been reading the public findings from the China Dili investigation. Summary is "nothing to see here, not on our watch" so the current board of China Dili rubbing their hands of responsibility. However, the best phrase in the statement is "Pursuant to the Independent Investigation...

Re: Ex Players

Will he ever get a game at Chelsea (or Man City tbf)? With KDB out for a few months perhaps Man City now have more of a need than Chelsea?

seen it before with Bielsa and Hassenhutl's teams where they are great up to Christmas and then tail off in the second half of the season as players get fatigued over the course of the full season

Re: New GK

don't see the point of him going somewhere to be understudy though. he needs games. He could sit on the bench at Reading.

Think it probably means CBC is going to sign another contract? Or Pereira replaces CBC if he doesn't sign a contract?

Re: New takeover

As long as the club don't get caught like QPR did with Briatone and Ecclestone and then Fernandes as owners. While bills were paid the players purchased and salaries given make the recent transfer strategy here look well defined and managed. Exactly - while I get the sentiment behind the SBWD campa...

Re: BFTG Peterborough

I know people get very hung up on formations but Saturday was a 4-4-2 in my opinion (not 4-2-2-2 or whatever others have been describing). Liked the look of Knibbs but he's not used to playing wide - you could see in his positioning, especially defensively, and always wanted to come inside. When Ehi...

Re: New takeover

if you look at the Italian guy who bought Leeds when they were in the Champ, then he's made a great profit when you compare his selling price(s) to his purchase price. However, difficult to tell without further analysis about how much he had to spend (or borrow) to generate that profit. But it's cl...

Re: another, thants right another embargo for late PAYE payments - a new embargo

What's the position with us not being able to pay a transfer fee for three windows? Is that gone as well? No that will remain Doesn’t matter that much if we are under embargo until Jan if we get some signings through quickly now tbh Would be far from surprised if Dai chooses not to pay hmrc again n...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai “ supporters action group v2.2

Who cares how much he has spent, he's also sold off the clubs assets to fund half of it. this is not fundamentally true. He sold Hogwood (to himself) and the stadium (to himself) purely to create an accounting profit which was allowed at the time under the EFL's P&S rules. He'd already put the ...

Re: We need a goalkeeper this week.

look at teams like Coventry and Luton in recent seasons. Haven't needed to break the bank to get promotion winning teams together. So, while money should help, it still needs a proper plan and a good manager/coach to get the best out of the resources you have. Playoffs are possible on a modest budg...

Re: another, thants right another embargo for late PAYE payments - a new embargo

The problem between the EFL and Dai could be explained in the attached STAR analysis of the original EFL decision (see bottom of page 2 re: Relegation). https://star-reading.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/211124-Reading-FC-EFL-decision-STAR-assessment.pdf Basically, if the club cannot stay within EF...

Re: another, thants right another embargo for late PAYE payments - a new embargo

Don’t think wba are doing so well at that Nor are Wolves; albeit they've got PL money to help them. West Brom have parachute payments, which will assist them. WBA don't have parachute payments, got their last PP last season. PP are made on the last day of the year I believe (ie 30 June), so potenti...
