Re: That Mbengue own goal

These football calamities/ funnies have been happening for years and will continue to in the future, hence there are TV outtakes.

I still painfully remember the Mark White own goal, along with Nyland’s howler against Luton.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cheltenham Town (a)

A shocking game of football with lots of ifs and maybes. I felt like it was Cheltenham’s cup final against their larger local rivals. Their midfield was very good and I loved being so close to the pitch in the away end. We got a point having played 44 minutes of shit football ( the worst I can remem...

Re: Brighton U21s (League Trophy)

Clyde1998 The latest estimate is 215 Reading tickets sold and 115 Brighton tickets sold - for 330 total. Wouldn't be surprised if this ends up less than 1,000 overall.

I am surprised that they didn’t switch the game. 3 to 5k at the SCL would been better.

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

Could do with another striking option and Carey knows him/Spurs, so may not be the worst move. No thanks, Senior career 48 games 0 goals He scored 4 for Pompey in L1 last season. He's only 19 so the fact he failed to break into a promotion pushing Ipswich side, is not something I'm going to hold ag...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (a)

The one thing that stood out to me was we kept in the game even when we were under the cosh. We always looked like we were capable of hitting them on the break and Azeez has well and truly proved me wrong. We definitely need another experienced striker and as mentioned above Ehib isn’t going to impr...

Re: Selles In

I honestly believe with any other manager with lower league experience we’re easily sat in a comfortable mid table position. However, I am starting to think that Selles was probably the only one willing to accept the role given our current shit show. It all started off fairly promising in the league...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h)

After the performance against Lincoln last week I am really looking forward to this one. It’s a really important game as it sets the tone for a busy period of games where we could lift ourselves out of the relegation zone. With regards to Mbengue he’ should be a CB atm, but I’d like to think that he...

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

As much as I don’t like the idea of anyone being made redundant, I see all this as the club trying to get their house in order in time for a potential sell. Irrespective of whether I like it or not it needs to happen, as right now the senior management need to do everything within their power to sav...

At least SBWD said there are some positives, albeit it’s just words atm. For me, the performance at Lincoln, getting rid of Ejaria and Pang actually being at the meeting are all a bit more encouraging compared to recent weeks. Although unconfirmed reports of staff redundancies are grim, if true. I a...

Re: Brighton U21s (League Trophy)

Having witnessed some good tussles against Brighton over the last 30+ years, I can’t bring myself to think about this game. It just serves as a painful reminder of a club that’s been well run and one that’s been oxf*rd. Hopefully, we can win and get a decent draw in the last 8.

Basically, yes. This pretty much fits my 'new owner soon or we don’t start next season theory. He now has to pay £20k in fines. - he won't. Plus the previously stipulated amount to be held in lieu of paying bills on time, by 12 Jan. - he won't. Then on 13 Jan he'll need to pay £70k in fines. - he w...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

When was the last time an English club bigger than Reading folded? Bury. Bury spent more years in the top diviosion, Bury soent more season in the second division. Bury won the FA Cup. Is this a joke? 12k ground normally half full, not in the top flight since before the 2nd World War. Like those pe...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

From what i've heard, Dai has just completely disengaged. He doesn't follow what's going on at the club at all and isn't taking any of the takeover stuff seriously. Sounds about right It’s like he’s just got bored, but why not sell up and go away with a few quid I agree, maybe sell us to Ashley for...

Stranded Well, if true, he has played 17 games in the Regionalliga West (effectively German 4th tier) and is a defensive midfielder.

He sounds ideal for National League South.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

But it's not logical. Who in their right mind would reject a bid, put us into administration, lose control of the sale process and in all likelihood receive a lot less? If none of the bids are up to his asking price, the only logical response would be to fund the club again, get it on firmer footin...

We are done for and what will be will be. I really do believe Dai would do this out of spite and just write off all the money he’s lost.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

If Dai just wants to kill us like his 2 other clubs how does that actually work? I understand that only Dai can put us into administration, which would most likely result in new ownership and a points deduction, but we’d survive as a club. However, what would be the main trigger for the club to be l...
