Re: New Manager

He was vice chairman and interim CEO. He would have had an idea fairly quickly that he didn't want Clement in charge so at the very least he should have been putting feelers out there. How do you know that didnt happen? Er the last 7 days mainly...... Jesus. In the last 7 days we've offered a job t...

Re: New Manager

He was interim CEO for three weeks prior to being the official new CEO. He would have known the he wanted rid of Clement and should have had someone lined up. He was Vice chairman - completlety different role. When you sack Employees at a Senior level, you have to be very careful that you do it the...

Re: New Manager

We could lose all of our games and be cut adrift by then! Too late. We should have had someone lined up and signed, poor planning. If only life was that simple.... Clement was Gourlays signing.. Clement was safe until Gourlay went / Gourlay refused to sack Clement Gourlay gets sacked Howe comes in ...

Suppose a lot is to do with who we bring in I’d happily wait a month if it meant Jokanovic coming in at the end of it We could lose all of our games and be cut adrift by then! Too late. Re: New Manager

was he pig ignorant then too? No, he was a gentleman by all accounts. My dealings with Parky back in the day were always a pleasure. After each home match he would sit in a corner of the players bar which was a converted store room at Elm park and just let the other players take centre stage win, l...

Re: New Manager

A few in here were comfortable going down with Clement, and even staying down a few years, because it would be 'beneficial'. In fact, one poster said they didn't care what the results were or what division(s) we dropped to. Bit more of a danger in dropping down if you're spunking several million, i...

Re: Clement sacked!

Sad to see him go, and would've loved him to be a number two here, to an experienced Manager. Thought he was a genuinley good guy However results speak volumes & lets face it, we've been pants for months. His inability to shore up the defence has been his downfall, and IMO its not due to the qua...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (a) sponsored by Eric Nixon in goal

We're just not brave enough in the attacking third...until we're a goal down Understandable to take it cautious away at 3rd when you're 20th and three of your four preferred attackers are out injured/sick and the one playing is carrying a knock. Thought we played it right. If we’d gone for it after...

Re: New CEO

Just adding my tuppenthworth on this one, and agree Central Mid has been a shambles for years, but for me , its not just about one player its the partnership of the two in the middle thats been lacking. We've not acquired/ trained / developed a relationship between our center mid pairings for years...

Re: New CEO

Are you serious? We have a midfield unit that gets continually bypassed and a defence that struggles as a result. None of our midfielders have been able, possibly Williams to a lesser degree, to actually defend whether that is a specific player in that role or as a unit. We have done for several ye...

Re: Gourlay gone

This is another bizarre obsession of the Reading supporters. Everyone appears to have a massive hard on for Steven Reid despite none of us actually knowing how involved or uninvolved he was at the club or what he actually did. I'll see your Steven Reid and raise to Sal Bibbo. Again nice bloke, met ...

Re: Gourlay gone

Brilliant news for the club, hopefully Nani next. Don't see all the fuss on Twitter about getting Tevreden back - he played a key role in our biggest ever transfer window (summer 2017) and looked at the dross that was signed... Would get Hammond (DOF) & Howe (Chief Exec) back involved asap. This.

I'm gonna say it, because it needs to be said: you are full of shit, Admittedly he wasn't a world beater but he would walk into this Reading team. And I'm gonna say it - no he would'nt. Football has moved on big time since his day, and he just wouldnt be technically profficient to get near the firs...

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

I'm gonna say it, because it needs to be said: He was a crap player (and I've spoken to some of his former teammates who would agree wholeheartedly with that statement). He is also a pretty crap manager who has achieved nothing. I don't want him anywhere near the club I'm gonna say it, because it n...

Re: Solutions to problems (instead of moaning)

Transfer policy for the past few years has been a hopeless shambles, and thats been addressed. Tevreden has been moved out.

Lets hope the new Guy has a better idea of whats required.
