Re: VAR

VAR a disaster yet again. How on earth was Firmino offside? I've not seen it, but heard it was given for his armpit being offside or something daft! How close a call was it? These marginal decisions are still being made with technology that just isn't accurate enough to be able to make these calls ...

Re: ArsenaLOL

Xhaka has come out with a statement. It doesn't matter how good/bad you are at football. It's an absolute disgrace some of the comments made to him. Who tells someone they hope their daughter gets cancer just because they're bad at football? This sort of stuff is beyond me And it's easy to say &quo...

Re: The Non - League thread

I don't think Tallentire should ever have been sacked, clearly he is one of the only people on Earth who the chairman trusts with the team. I have met Stephen Peters many times as he headed up the new youth football vision at the club over the summer so I had a fair amount of dealings with him. Tal...

Re: The Non - League thread

They are honestly better off just giving the job to Tallentire again, he is the only guy the chairman really trusts with the team. I may apply myself to be honest. Have a guess what Bracknell have done...... :D How long are we giving him? Surely it won't be too long until the Chairman pulls the tri...

Re: VAR

But then you look at some of the incidents VAR hasn’t given and you wonder how the Brighton one can be given compared to others And this is where I find VAR confusing. I thought they were only meant to overrule something which is a “clear and obvious error”. Take an offside decision by literally mi...

Re: VAR

As predicted, VAR isn't really solving any of the issues video technology was supposed to address. At the same time it's created it's own issues, slowed down the game at times, impacted on the way referees appear to be making decisions, and it's starting to have a negative effect on the joy of watch...

Nope. https://www.footballinbracknell.co.uk/news/club-news/43286/bracknell-town-part-company-with-sam-lock/ Trigger happy Kayne is going to run out of options soon isn't he? Yeah got the impression this was on the cards as previously mentioned. There was something that just wasn't right about the t...

Re: The Non - League thread

Bracknell just aren't at the races so far, really no excuse for it given the firepower at their disposal. Is the patience running thin yet? Not sure what the current state of play is as I've not been at the club for a couple of weeks now but something certainly isn't working, we are so inconsistent...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Liverpool were far the superior team and should have won 2-0. VAR got United a draw. Errr, not quite. With or without VAR United were one up so I don’t see how 2-0 works at all You could argue (and I'm not here, just playing a bit of devils advocate) that if it wasn't for VAR then the ref may well ...

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

I mean it happens to normal people everyday, but yes, footballers being in the spotlight should be much more careful about this type of thing. Yeah I am going from the angle of a person, i.e a footballer, can easily afford a driver for the night or a taxi. Joe Bloggs might struggle with that so tak...

Re: VAR

Thought they've said they're not going to use a pitch side monitor for the refs to look at incidents again? That's the whole point of var They've said they want to avoid using it because of the delays to the game. The process they've implemented is, I think, that they'll use it at what they deem to...

Re: VAR

Sorry, talking about the Sokratis penalty incident. Egan (I think him) had his hands all over his shirt. Surely that’s a foul? Oh yeah, that one. Agreed it was a foul. If I heard correctly, I think Alan Shearer said on MoTD on Saturday that VAR has not been used to give a penalty yet. Something lik...

Re: VAR

'foul' was a bit soft tbf VAR can fook off as well...didn't want to celebrate the goal until after the review It would've been a soft foul, and Origi probably didn't help him self by going down quite so theatrically., but it's still a foul and should've been given. A pretty embarrassing weekend for...

Re: England - the future....

The full backs...I'm pretty sure TAA and Chillwell are Southgates preferred options but we've got two games in 4 days and he presumably asks them to do quite a shift in either the 4-2-3-1 we started with last night or the 4-3-3 we've favoured since the WC. He must be wary of their workload and so, ...

Re: England - the future....

Kane is actually a very, very good all round player. Goes largely unnoticed due to the goals he scores but he has a great football brain on him. Quite. There were plenty of calls for Tammy Abraham to replace him before and after Friday nights game but Kane set up our best two or three opportunities...

Re: England - the future....

I should also add, when we won in Spain our midfield was Dier, Winks, Barkley. Doesn't that just sound more naturally balanced to everybody? I know we withstood a lot of pressure in the 2nd half, but the first half was as accomplished an England performance as I can remember. Rice is seen as the lo...

Re: England - the future....

I do think last night's result was partly Southgate's tinkering and partly Czechs having to win to put some air between them and Kosovo. England are all but qualified - Bulgaria on Monday then Montenego in the penultimate game and Kosovo can't catch them whatever happens. Absolutely, it was an expe...
