Re: Championship to return

Current plan is for Sky to continue with plans to broadcast the contracted number of Championship matches (and indeed those games that were already picked for coverage remain so) - only change is that internal club coverage (like MUTV for example), which is normally asked to stand down for Sky game...

Re: 2019/20 Season - How will it end?

Meeting on Tuesday to decide the fate of L1 and promotion/relegation issues in L2. Idea gaining support at the moment is that the tables are calculated on PPG but then a statistical test is applied to take into account that the PPG can significantly change over the final 9 games. If any team is out...

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

Winston Biscuit Diego Costa has been fined €543,208 and handed a six-month prison sentence for tax fraud (though like all the others he will not serve jail time)

I trust ordinary people found guilty of the same crime do not get to serve the jail time either.

Re: Reading players out of contract in summer 2020

Serious question. Does anyone think we will try to negotiate short term contract extensions for the players like Blackett, Loader, Adam, Miazga, Boye, Gomes, McCleary and Gunter etc who are out of contract on 30 June or will we let them go and play the Academy lads until the end of the season. Also...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Macclesfield Town have been charged by the EFL on three counts: - Late payment of March wages - Failing to act with utmost good faith in respect of EFL matters - Breaching order, requirement, direction or instruction of the League Independent panel to take next steps. Methinks Stevenage will be saf...

Rumour - Isaac Karamoko

Reading and Hull reportedly both interested in signing PSG right sided forward Isaac Karamoko

Isaac is out of contract this summer and is only 18 so may well be one for the Academy/fringe first team

Re: Rumour - Olise to Celtic

The club are hardly in a finanical position to turn down any decent bid at the moment - who knows what the transfer market looks like in the future but realistically an offer around 2m plus a sizeable % of sell on and he'll likely be off. Pretty much guaranteed a decent salary, titles and European ...

Re: Rumour - Rob Dickie

has anyone watched Dickie this season? I know the twitterverse has a bit of a love in with him. Does he live up to the hype? They don’t call him the Basingstoke Beckenbauer for no reason. He’s a significantly better player than Cooper (agree with the consensus in this thread that he was a good play...

Re: Championship to return

QPR don't sound happy....I wonder if we agree with their sentiments. Overall I think it'll be great to have football back, but it's clearly important for players to be consulted properly and feel safe. Not entirely sure why they’re whingeing. PL games are currently set to resume on the Wednesday be...

Championship to return

Official statement from the FL states the intention is to resume Championship fixtures behind closed doors on 20th June subject to the usual government requirements etc. The restart will also see match day squads increased to 20 and up to 5 substitutes allowed. https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/spo...

Re: 2019/20 Season - How will it end?

Three Charlton players aren't going to play when the season resumes, including Lyle Taylor. His contract is up at the end of the season. And QPR are 'vehemently opposed' to the restart date of 20 June. Presume there is going to be some agreement with players out of contract that their agreement wil...

Re: The effect of the break

Don’t know about season ticket holders.I did think we could maybe we would get priority on a direct televised link to the game. But you can imagine the uproar.Plus we would suddenly become very popular with other fans breaking the regs and wanting to come round to watch. The red button would disadvan...
