Re: Next Manager

Pardew anyone ? A lot of water under the bridge since 2003. Doing a good job at Southampton but knows he can't get them up because of the 10 point deduction. Bring Murty back as his assistant. Parky would still be my choice though, with Murty again. Pride in the Royals is what we need, not belief in...

Re: Mooney's Wages....

Instead of recalling Mooney we seem to be pinning our hopes on signing an Icelandic striker who was good 4 or 5 years ago but in recent years has been very injury prone. With our presents dearth of stikers surely Mooney was worth a go, at the very least a place on the bench.

Re: Time For A New Manager - This Week...

Brendan's big book of tactics lacks one basic important thing, PASSION. I can't imagine him giving Kebe a rocket or telling Long to get off his a**e and get the flab off or tell Matejovsky not be so casual and stop looking for the magic ball all the time. One man still with the PASSION for Reading a...

Isnt it a bit stupid taking a picture when there was a good possibility that there would be changes with quite a bit of tim...

Re: Cork City set to be wound up

The club that gave us Doyle, Long and Mooney is no more. Sad news indeed, all for the sake of 360,000 Euros

DIRECTORS OF FOOTBALL

Notts County have Sven.........We have Nicky Hammond !!! So how come some rich Middle Eastern consortium can buy into County and yet JM who wants to sell can't find a buyer? Since when is a League 2 side more attractive than Reading in the Championship?

Yeah, I always thought he was awful  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKNEo3iMHDA Sometimes pro footballers get injuries they never overcome. Dropping down the leagues, in this case to MLS is inevitable. Just surprised people find that such a difficult concept to grasp. Thanks for those reminde...

Re: SHOULD WE RESIGN LITA?

Glad my post stirred up so much interest. I didn't think for a minute that we would resign him but I do not see the rosy new future for Royals with the current squad and new manager that others seem to see. Yes I know there is still a month and a half to go until the transfer window shuts but how ma...

Re: First game of a new era today

Let's hope we do badly in the preseason games. Remember preseason 2005-06 when Farnborough played us off their park and we lost 2-1, and our goal was a very rare Little effort. We all know what happened in the rest of the season and you would never have guessed it by that day's showing !!!!

Re: SHOULD WE RESIGN LITA?

loyalroyal4life next you will be saying shall we keep s.hunt and resign doobs

I won't miss SHunt if and when he goes but with Ingi still some way away from fitness and the possibility of Bikey going I thimk it was a rash move to let Doobs go. I think he would have taken a 1 year deal.

Re: SHOULD WE RESIGN LITA?

Absolutely not, anyway why would he want to come back here? He seems very pleased to be coming back for the testimonial. Where's your 15 to 20 goals a season Royal at the moment? Long maybe but I wouldn't go above 10 for him. Lita? 15-20 goals? At the moment? I think not. Read my comment again, I'm...

Y21_Royal NHunt > Long > Mooney > Lita

I'd actually rate Lita better than Long and Mooney.

Lita 2 Reading goals in 2 seasons, Long nine goals in one season

I see the comparison

Didn't Lita get around 7 in his Norwich loan spell, including a hattrick against Wolves?

Re: SHOULD WE RESIGN LITA?

I didn't read all of that. I thought one of main reasons for letting him go was his wages. And our striking options aren't exactly limited. He's without a club at the moment and surely he realises that a second successive Championship season will not command the same Prem level wages. But Pr...

SHOULD WE RESIGN LITA?

With our striking options limited at the moment and no sign of anything happening on the Tommy Smith front due to us annoying Watford and not wanting to beat the Sheff Utd offer how about resigning Leroy? Anticipating the negative response from HobNobbers let's consider these. A bad attitude problem...

Re: Rodgers reactions in interview indicate realistic transfers

Since when did Burns and Bullivant talk a good game? The expectations when Burns came in were high as we had supposedly tried to get him in before but he had turned us down then (wasn't he one of the Newcastle coaches then?). Then when he he signed all those Jocks , Fleck, McIntyre etc, he was goin...

Re: Rodgers reactions in interview indicate realistic transfers

Bottom Half? You want some money on that? One unknown is how long Ingi will be out (and whether he will get back to his best) Noel looks like he might not be ready for the season start. Bikey will be out for a few games with his suspension, and we start against my "dark horse" for the lea...

Re: Rodgers reactions in interview indicate realistic transfers

The reaction of the Watford chairman to Rodgers's comments about Smith is exactly the same as would be Sir John's if the boot were on the other foot. I'm afraid Rodgers is revealing his inexperience as a manager. Perhaps he thinks he can get away with it just like his erstwhile mentor the "Chos...
