Re: BFTG - Arsenal (a)

To anyone who travelled from Reading by train; what chance would someone have had of getting to the game if they got to the train station at 6pm? Why, are you up to mischief? No, not me. Long boring story really, but the missus supposed to go with her younger brother but he couldn't get to the stat...

Re: BFTG - 'uddersfield

My first game since Preston. Easy to see the improvement & increased confidence in playing out from the back. First half, anyway.

Huddersfield looked very good second half, even with ten. Wouldn't be surprised if they go the distance.

McShane's nutmeg 8)
Worthy of Brynjar at his best.

Re: EFL Cup round 4

We definitely took more than the official 7000 that night. There were tons of Reading fans dotted among the home support, I don't think there was one nervous moment of cheering a Reading goal in their end as their reserves thumped the 106 side. Front row of the top tier in the East stand. Best view...

LWJ Surprised at Villa's start, and Sheffield Wednesday's who have started poorly also.

My boss is a Wednesday fan & his boss is a Villa fan. Happy days for me in the office atm :D

Staines Town 1-0 Maidenhead United Proper cup-tie down at Wheatsheaf Lane. First five minutes it looked like Maidenhead's higher quality would tell, but Staines had the better of the rest of the first half albeit without creating any really clear chances. Second half the Magpies were much improved ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

anyone else remember Bobby Zamora throwing a football in the face of one of our ballboys in temper (ie, he meant it...)? An ill timed tackle is one thing, but losing it and striking a minor...? Stones and Glass Houses spring to mind. Don't know about Zamora, but I do remember a ball boy being hit b...

Re: BFTG - Preston Home

Very encouraging performance, especially first half. Some good link-up play down both wings. Nicely worked goal. Obviously from the training ground, including the blocking of defenders to give Swift the space to score. We still need a proper striker to bury the sort of chance that Denis missed. The ...

Re: Law Changes

As the article states, 3 is not the broad removal of the rule that players must leave the field after treatment. Players will be allowed to remain on the field if they require treatment after a yellow or red card foul only. It's a good middle ground. Expect to see more imaginary card waving as the ...

I haven't renewed, but I will on Friday. Also credit card timing.

Unless Colin is manager, then I'm out.

Sutekh Perhaps another PANTS type day should be at the forefront of next season only aimed at the board rather than the players and management. Have to be timed to coincide with the game that the board attend of course...

Thought Taylor had a poor game. Stayed on the edge of the six-yard box & sent Quinn out to (fail to) stop the cross for the first goal. The first two goals were both unmarked headers. Wasn't overly impressed with McCleary at right back either. Lots of poor first touches from him. But has been sa...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

Madejski aside - as a principle do you feel Premiership rugby has a home in Berkshire, or should it be concentrated in South West London? London Irish's home ground may have been in the Richmond/Twickenham for a couple of seasons, but for over 80 years they played in Sunbury-on-Thames, MIDDLESEX, (...

After our allocation was snapped up, folks from Reading bought hospitality tickets, Corporate tickets, anything you could get your hands on. Wembley used to have a ticket office in the Virgin Megastore at Tottenham Court Road. I picked up some tickets from there. I guess it was supposed to be a neu...

Re: Back from the game - Palace

That was too tense to be enjoyable. Norwood - a couple of outstanding passes (one referenced above) aside, his distribution & set pieces were poor. Hector - even worse. Never seemed to get to grips with the pace of the game. Deserved his booking for underhitting a pass then pulling their guy bac...
