Re: Rival Watch

Think you will find we (only) needed to win 7--0 to stay up on goals scored. So only three goals short. Didn’t SC say sometime after that he didn’t know that and would have changed his decisions if he had? Surely he would have known?! Or someone in the camp should have known at any rate I seem to r...

Re: Rival Watch

Article in Derby programme on opening day in the Championship following their relegation from Premiership " You can tell how far we have fallen, when we end up playing Reading!" Bring it on! It was a fair comment at the time. Fast forward a few years and we go there in the Premier League ...

Re: Song for Jahmari

Doesn't have to be a serious suggestion for someone to start singing it. When was the last time a song in one of these threads actually caught on? :| Round about 0% of the time. Used to start chants on Southbank and East stand and precisely no ideas ever came from here but these days it may be diff...

No mention of Clarke's "injury" in the Tilehurst End report either.

Re: Injury watch 2021/22

Is Clarke injured? As far as I can tell only one person tweeted or whatever, I have read the match report on the club website, it says Clarke came on at half-time and one other sub (Campbell) was used for the last 10 minutes. If Clarke was injured why wasn't he subbed? if he was in a plaster cast, s...

Re: Injury watch 2021/22

Perhaps it's a deliberate ploy. If the club keeps it quiet, the first the opposition know who is fit is when they appear on the team sheet., it gives them less time to alter their approach to the game. Pauno did hint at this at one of his pre-match interviews on Radio Berkshire recently

Re: New Stadium

Where could you build a new stadium near the town centre? Who would put a large area of grass and a building that are only used a few times a year near the town centre? The cost of land in Reading would rule that out as any developer would want a much bigger return for his money. Afraid it is a non-...

Re: 150th Anniversary Thread - 2021/22

Could SC and BM be player managers for the game, even if only for the last 10 minutes? Or a combined “best of team” versus the current layabouts. Then again if it’s celebrating 150 years then why not include all ex Reading players that can still kick a ball a bit and fancy it? Finally, as I believe...

Re: 150th Anniversary Thread - 2021/22

Reading FC has now got a website:- royals150.co.uk showing details of our history and also the events that are planned. The event that catches my eye is a match on Sat. May 21st 2022, Coppell v McDermott. Who would Hobnobbers want to see in that match? Would it be the two promotion teams (as far as ...

Re: White knight

I don't understand how a new owner will help? The current ones literally spent more than they were allowed to, they have been pretty decent to fans throughout and have respected the club's heritage. I mean - I would prefer it if all clubs were owned by fans and we end this whole 'millionaire/billio...

Brogue We should have got rid of the clown in April when I started this thread. It was obvious all the way back then he wasn’t up for the job. He has to go

Come off it! You are glad he hasn't gone. If he had done so, you would not have reached 50 pages, would you?
