Best Player in the World Ever

The BBC is letting you choose at the moment, in honour of Pele's 80th Birthday. I found it extremely tough to choose between players of different eras and ended up with this: https://ranked-list-images.files.bbci.co.uk/PeleGOAT-7e1080a14f0a1949e3f7d498548cda5e.jpg I would probably come up with a dif...

Re: BF I follow Barnsley

Meite is never going to be a really great player but his zest and eye for goal is very welcome. Still only 24. In a better team will excel. I got told on Friday, "you'll do well this season. You've got Meite haven't you." From a Millwall fan. If you score goals and are big and quick you w...

Sutekh Let’s hope the club don’t do a “Clive Allen” with him.

Swap him for the best full back in the world?

Re: End of season sale - value the squad

Meite is our main asset - he is the kind of player championship clubs were paying more than £10 million for pre-covid. Swift is also worth millions, but possibly no longer part of the future for a team like Leeds Somebody might remember Moore being good and have a wage structure to match his current...

Re: ArsenaLOL

I watched it with the sound off while watching the cricket. Does anybody know... Why were Arsenal's shirt names and numbers written in a third reich font? Why wasn't Azpilicueta sent off for the penalty foul? Why hadn't another Chelsea player got a straight red for a flying foul before that? Chelsea...

Re: Confimred loan - Ovie Ejaria

We would be mad not to sign him as he has been a tremendous player for us. Missing out on him would be as bad as missing out on Jolyon Lescott for the sake of a few pence. However, it's not my money and if we can't afford him, we can't afford him.

Re: Player of the Season

Ejaria Meite Swift Special award for Chris Gunter who I think has been tremendous this season given the situation he was put in by previous management. This. They are the players who have made it worth watching Reading this year. An adequate goalie who is not quite commanding enough and doesn't mak...

Re: VAR

FIFA are going to take control of VAR because it isn't as they wanted it to be. The FA seem to be the worst culprits by far as our on-field refs aren't consulting the pitch-side monitor and the ones in the studio are too loyal to their mates to overturn poor decisions - the mad-eyed bald Italian ref...

Hound
Lower West Mid table team in mid table position. Ship steadied. Just need to keep the core together for next season. There's something to build on.

Basically that

Again convinced we can lose 15+ players and still have enough to tread water next season

+1 for us be adequate

Re: Reading players out of contract in summer 2020

I am a great follower of the Academy and love it when we bring young players through and give them a chance. In the case of Loader he clearly thinks he is far better than he has shown us so far and it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth that he has not even tried to make it here at the club that ha...

Re: Biggest Reading FC injustices

I'd like to see video footage of this, because it might not have been completely as I remember it. But part way through some of the most exciting football I had ever seen Reading play, with fans singing ourselves hoarse as Caskey roamed the centre circle directing attack after attack, Barry Hunter h...

Re: Worst ever Reading FC X1

McIntyre was unlucky to not get a new contract. He did ok. We iirc McIntyre was diabolical played upfront, but when he moved back a bit actually did quite well. He is probably the third name on my personal worst ever XI, partly for not being the type of striker who scores goals and partly for his p...

Re: Reading FC 2018/19 accounts

Looks as if the accounts have been published and it`s not good news https://twitter.com/KieranMaguire?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor Reading therefore paid £225 in wages for every £100 of income which is a Championship record, beating Birmingham’s £202 under Harry Redknapp. ...

Re: wage bill

Reports put their annual wage bill at around 35 million. That would put our average salary at something like 30k per week. Which is clearly bullshit. Our wage bill has been lower than 35m for a while, but not a lot. It certainly won't be much lower than 25m. Probably somewhere between 28 and 32. Wo...

Re: Bowen Out.

I think we are pretty good but unlucky. It is great seeing what Ejaria and Swift are doing to teams. With a bit if luck we would already be on the edge of the play-off positions because piss poor referees and fluky deflected goals have cost us loads of points.
