Re: Fixtures

Baines That list looks a bit more familiar than the aberration of the last two seasons...

Ref the BBC list:

When did the abbreviation for Forest become Nottm Forest instead of Notts Forest?

Late 1970s.
Before then people weren't as sophisticated and pedancy was not so rife, so you would see both.

Re: Holland v Italy

It boils my blood that the commentators and pundits spent so much time and energy slagging of the officials who made a very good decisions in real time. The commentators got it wrong for hours!!! Keith Hackett (I think) wrote a really good article a while back that explained how straight forward th...

Re: Holland v Italy

One thing that impresses me is the passing and retention of the ball. Why can none of the home nations manage to use the ball like this? because they're not very good? because players in the England midfield think a 60 yard Hollywood pass is better than a 10 yard pass to feet? It's also about movem...

Re: Shorey - How much will he go for?

A straight swap for Zamora would be nice, but I guess we couldn't pay his wages.

Re: Shorey - How much will he go for?

Myself, I thought Shorey was by far one of the most hard working and effective players on the pitch this season. His tireless efforts and devotion to the cause clearly demonstrated why he is worthy of an England place cruelly denied him by playing for a low profile team. If a higher profile team we...

Re: Shorey - How much will he go for?

I don't care really. In my mind he has already gone. Compare his behaviour this season with that of Sidwell last year. Sidwell played with 100% commitment and made tackles in every game which could have lead to injuries that lost him his million pound plus season at Chelsea. Shorey played awfully at...

Re: Your favourite games from the Tommy Burns era?

Wasn't the Ipswich game with two sendings off the 5-2 defeat a year or two before? Bobby Mihaylov and Andy Bernal IIRC. So, the Magnificent Seven: Jimmy McIntyre Stuart Gray Jimmy Crawford Paul Brayson Patrick Kelly Scott Howie Robert Fleck Reilly, Brebner and McLaren followed later didn't they? It...

Re: UEFA Cup Final: Zenit St Petersburg v Rangers

Rangers wqouldn't have made much out of that UEFA cup run Finerain, Everton only made 0.5m this season. To say no reading players would not get into Rangers' team is a bit laughable. No Rangers players would get in Reading's team would be closer to the truth. Flicking between the Rangers match and ...

Re: Bring back the white shorts and proper hoops.

The 17 Bus Major selling point would be that there would be very little cost in design fees, and also this is what the fans thinkl of as the Reading kit, do it Mr Madejski.

Are you impying that the previous kits had a heavy design cost?
How much do myopic two-year olds cost to hire?

Of his 29 kicks the stats are:- At Doyle 7 (Doyle won 6) At Kitson 9 (Kits won 7) At a.n.other Reading player 9(won 6) Kicked out of play 4 (of which twice he had strikers rushing at him) This is one definite improvement on last year then! When Kitson was injured and/or when Seol was playing centre...
