Re: Play-Offs Thread 2018

Does anyone have any stats on how statistically likely it is for the 3rd placed team to win the playoffs? http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10275474/football-league-play-offs-is-third-place-a-curse-or-is-that-a-myth Nice one. So accounting for last year where none of the 3rd (shifting pl...

Re: Play-Offs Thread 2018

If I recall correctly, I think I heard the other day that Fulham have never won a play-off game. Three appearances, out in the semi-finals each time without winning a leg. This is, however, the first time they have come 3rd in the league since the play-offs were established.

Re: Play-Offs Thread 2018

Agreed with your Championship prediction OMA - that said, I can't stand the thought of John Terry's smug face as he lifts the play-off trophy.

Yet more sport falls off the Sky platform - this time its live La Liga games, the new deal for which has been won by Eleven Sports, who will broadcast the games online.

Tbf I'd file Coleman with Hasselbaink (Burton) in the 'why the fcuk did I leave my secure job in which I was successful?!!?!!' bucket.

Re: Ups & Downs 2017/18

On West Brom, Darren Moore nominated for Manager of the Month in his first month in football management. Great effort from a club legend. if only clubs had the balls to appoint more club legends and not recycle the same old moyes, pardew, allardyce cycle Was reading an article the other day about A...

Re: Ups & Downs 2017/18

Looking at the Premier League relegation run-in again - I now think Huddersfield will be the ones to drop with Stoke and West Brom. Their last 3 games are Man City (A), Chelsea (A) and Arsenal (H) and they are 3 points off the drop. A couple of the sides around them are playing each other as well, ...

Just 2 games left in the German 2nd division and everyone from 8th place downwards could still be relegated  Wow just checked it out.... in the last 5 games that each of those 10 teams from 8th to 18th have played (55 games, but bearing in mind they have obviously played each other) been 13 wi...

Parma win their first game in Serie B. 2 back to back promotions from division 4, impressive especially that they have come out of the notoriously hard Liga Pro (60 teams, 3 winners and 18 team playoff for the next lot to go up..... infact it seems to me that once you get out of the top 2/3 divisio...

Re: FA selling Wembley Stadium

Biggest opposition at the moment seems to be that Wembley could end up being called the Taco Bell Bowl or something stupid but isn't already sponsored by EE any way, so not sure how that causes a problem either. The Taco Bell Wembley Bowl, to be pedantic. Apparently part of the deal is that any new...

AthleticoSpizz Is “The Cottage” getting redeveloped?

Fulham will need somewhere to play (lol btw)

Yes it is, but they won't be moving out - reduced capacity for a season whilst the Riverside Stand is redeveloped. It only holds just under 5,000 at the moment so isn't a big loss in terms of ticket sales.

It would be. Always fondly remembered for beating us in our record breaking season and THAT chip by Blakey 8) I remember I was on holiday for the start of the season and was so disgusted at reading we had lost to Plymouth at home I didn't even bother picking up the Brighton result (a 2-0 win) until...

Re: Ups & Downs 2017/18

Incredible that Plymouth were in the relegation places in December. It is. They got 7 points from their first 14 games, and 58 from the 29 since. It's a shame they have stuttered right at last, just two points of the last 9. I did notice their climb up the table - from 24th to 5th in 20 games - and...

Re: Ups & Downs 2017/18

So as it stands.... Championship Promotion - Wolves as champions, and likely one of Cardiff or Fulham. Villa can still do it if neither of those win either of their remaining two games. Playoffs - Cardiff, Fulham and Villa assured of at least a play-off spot. Brilliantly a lot of the other contender...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

The Liverpool performance in the middle third of that game was as good as I remember a team playing since some of Barca's performances circa 5 or 6 years ago. They were outstanding. As PaddyPower would say, they 'Liverpool'd the fcuk' out of the last 15 minutes to leave the door open a little, but ...
