Re: Catering outside Stadium

John Smith The beer in (and outside) the stadium is horrific. Can they not serve Guinness at least?

Is this a genuine request? Because I can't think of anything more horrific than seeing what the inadequately-trained bar staff would do to a point of Guinness

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (h)

I knew there was a chance relegation could be a reset and we'd come back stronger but I can't help but look at League One and see how it has been a graveyard for former Prem sides. I mean, absolutely, if we'd got relegated I'd have been looking for silver linings, but it's not something I could eve...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (h)

Does anyone still believe relegation would have been good for us ? We've had plenty of false dawns. I won't be getting too excited by 11, 23 or 46 games. I want to see us at the right end of the table for a couple of seasons before I'm convinced this isn't another happy blip. So, if we got promoted...

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

Another player who must be injured is youngster Basil Tuma- although nothing has been reported as far as i know. Or has he just gone back to school? The school actually being Eton where he achieved the position of deputy head boy so a bit different from the usual route players have into the game. P...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

AthleticoSpizz …..and as for anybody giving a flying oxf*rd about what a Stoke fan thinks about any other team, let alone, ours…is truly something that needs passing over to the ‘Leon department’

In fairness though, this thread is for opinions from opposition fans, is it not?

Re: BFTG/TV - M'bro H

The proverbial game of two halves. Excellent to see the team grinding out a tricky win despite not the best performance. Especially keeping a clean sheet after being under pressure for so long. We need to play better than that though. We can't afford to give up any pretence at competing beyond defe...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

WTF was that pen the ref gave and then reversed it for an offside? didn`t look much contact to me. Looked really soft to me. So soft I think the linesman would have given offside even if it wasn't ! Team were clearly dead on their feet from about 60 minutes on. Joao to me doesn't look fully fit eit...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stevenage (h)

John Clarke and G-W are both left backs by trade i.e would be left back in a back four. As we are not currently playing that formation, any left back has to either operate as a wing back or a left-central defender. Ince tried them one way round in the first half and switched them in the second. if ...

Stoke City’s Championship fixture against Reading at the start of September has been selected by Sky Sports for live broadcast. As a result, the match at the Select Car Leasing Stadium has been moved from its original date and kick-off time. The fixture will now take place in Berkshire on Sunday , ...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

I think comparing the women's game to the men's works on some levels, particularly with regard to the money involved and general administration of the two games. However, comparing the quality of the players doesn't work and is pointless. What people should be appreciating is the vast improvement i...

Re: First Game

Apparently they did but as the rules keep changing every 5mins in rugby it's now away games first. How can everyone be at home at the same time? It's to do with the way the fixture list is laid out in rugby. A quirk that wouldn't work in football for obvious reasons. They play themselves, obviously.

Indeed, I they're quite happy to admit they're not perfect, but at least they're taking the first steps to making change. Would imagine this list grows as the years go by Yeah a lot of environmental changes are incremental, there isn't usually a case of one particular activity that reduces an organ...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I hope they keep last season’s kit as it’s my favourite. I saw a photo earlier in the week of when we signed Chris Gunter. That was an awful looking shirt with one thick blue hoop. I can’t even remember us playing in it. You've successfully blocked our disastrous 12/13 PL season from your head - we...

Re: Pre-season games 2022/2023

We get 1 or 2 days over 40c per year here, it is absolutely fcuking horrific. Literally walking to the end of the road feels like running a marathon, and that is with a dry heat - add any humidity to it and the air feels like a wall. It is horrible and anyone trying to downgrade it to "it's ju...

Re: Squad Watch 2022/23

Don’t think a huge amount of the Derby signings tbh and they have such little left from admin etc Suspect they’ll be lower mid table and certainly not champs with 100+ points I think the meltdown in their fanbase if they are struggling in L1 will be something else. Yes, they have a lot of reasonabl...

Hound Coz it’s cheaper to wait til later and they reckon the same number of shirts get sold anyway etc etc

This. If I buy the shirt it's because I like it - not because it was available for a pre-season friendly. It's not as if we're expecting Hammers fans to be buying souvenir shirts....
