Re: Thames Sports Investment

Again SJM calms some nerves. Nothing can be certain but at the moment with what we do know you just have to relax and take it all in.

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

No Fixed Abode Liverpool would never sack Dalglish. if results got that bad - they'd offer him a position 'upstairs' to save face.

What AVB m8? You might actually win a European trophy next season if you keep this form up.

A top 5 club. About right for a club of Chelsea's size don'tcha think?

Re: Thames Sports Investment

Fair play to JM. Offload all the best players for big money and when there are none left with any value Offload half the club for £40m. Money in his back pocket. The best thing bout this is getting the fans excited with the prospect of big signing taking the attention away from his personal profit ...

Platypuss Never mind that incident, what about 16 January 1999?

was that the 6-0 win for bristol rovers?

Yes. Him and Curo murdered us. It takes a lot to make me get up and leave early but I was so pissed off that day I went for a pint and then walked out.

Silver Fox Good point Jay, it's probably more like just over 48%, thus completely invalidating Dave's post

Re: Thames Sports Investment

No doubt someone's already said this, but my concern about the deal is that Madejski's got himself in a pretty difficult situation. His 49% stake is pretty much worthless unless and until TSI decide to exercise their option. To agree that he must be desperate for the money, and if he's desperate th...

Pepe the Horseman Deffo not coming here according to Fordham. We must be cra... stupid.

Fine, but he isn't all that reliable tbf. He gets a lot of his stuff off here or the internet. How often does he ever come up with something before it's in the press elsewhere, on here, or talked about by the club?

Re: Thames Sports Investment

Royal Lady So what exactly was the "big transfer news" that the papers were going to be reporting today?

And more to the point, why is TMD so bothered who we do or don't sign? :|

Only that we are interested in Billy Sharp.

Barry the bird boggler
tomrfcurz The Daily Mail tomorrow running a 'big transfer story' on RFC

Yeah, really big, two sentences at the bottom of page 64 saying Reading could move for Billy Sharp

Reading stealing in ahead of Leicester and Fulham for Billy Sharp is not big then? I'm sorry it's not Didier Drogba.

Re: Billy Sharp

People's perception of Reading will change over night. Sadly that also means bums coming here for the money as well. I hope we remain picky about who comes in.

Sharp would be an excellent start. Always looks a little heavy though, and we'll need to wrap him up in cotten wool with his past injuries.

Re: Villas-Boas wants B Teams in Football League

The idea would be good for the national team. Why? It'd reduce the overall talent pool, and a surprising number of current England players were initially discovered and scouted by Tier 2 teams. Look at spain for gods sake lol, most of barcelonas stars played in the B team Have you actually looked i...

Villas-Boas wants B Teams in Football League

F**k off! Andre Villas-Boas has added his backing to calls for a change to the youth development system in England. The Chelsea manager has backed the idea of possible feeder clubs, which has already been suggested by the likes of former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez and Blues predecessor Carlo Ancelo...

Re: Latest club accounts

Financial Fair Play is coming to Tier 1, and DCMS has committed to a club licensing system. The future looks pretty rosy for a solvent, well-run and (hard) debt-free club. Which we aren't. Well run, yes, but we run at a loss don't we? And we can't bank on player sales to keep the debt/black hole un...
