Re: Jimmy Kebe

His job is to play football, if he was better he might have got a move as well. The way the club is run is not his problem. Long and siggy got moves not because of money, but because we could not keep them, they were better than us Spot on. We couldn't have kept either in the Championship. They wer...

Re: Has Adkins got to know his players?

One of the reasons for appointing Adkins when we did was to allow him to get to know the players so as we could start the new season running. Sadly that doesn't seem to have happened. Otherwise why would he persist with Kanu? Why would he think that Blackman should start ahead of Alfie? Why wouldn'...

Re: Which RFC player most notably mixed ungainliness with sk

I suppose the most notable of this kind of player (non-Reading) would be the likes of Chris Waddle or Matt Le Tissier but Reading have had a few. I'm not talking ugliness here but the kind of player who walks onto the pitch and you think "jeez, he looks like he'd be a more likely candidate for...

Extended-Phenotype But according to reality?

I think reality is probably a better gauge.

Ouroboros I just found out that Kromheer ended up at Nurenberg.

Harsh treatment for a footballer, but he had it coming.

Could Nigel's 'Closer to home' comment mean someone more familiar to him though? Billy Sharp perhaps?

Re: Who was Reading's 'tidiest' ever player?

gazzer, loyal royal probably James Harper for me. Positionally he was excellent and was always making up ground to cover other players. Gave the ball simple. very tidy

Agreed. See my above post ! 8)

Re: The Reading Mismatch

So many people spouting rubbish about us needing this 'Big target man'. This isn't the 1980's where we 'Hoof it up to the big fella'. The best player in my time watching Reading, to play the lone striker role was Nicky Forster. He wasn't some big lump. Just an extremely quick CF with a decent touch.

Re: Do we really need another striker?

A little confused people are saying on one hand we need a striker capable of scoring 20+ goals a season and on the other that we need a target man. I dont know any target man who is going to score 20 goals a season who will come to reading.. I think Dzeko probably scored the most goals for a target...
