Re: BFTG - Luton

Swift is not the player Stam bought, he is certainly not the player of the last two seasons. In the last 2/3 games he’s played at the highest level and been effective, it’s like a new signing. And when he doesn’t work there’s Ejaria.... bit difficult for opposition to shutdown both of these players...

Re: BFTG Millwall

So just to clarify, most are of the belief that Swift's free kick was unlucky and worth a go but URZZZ thinks that it may have been a better option to play the ball in so that it could be contested? Both pretty valid views especially as Swift didn't score. The rest of most of the last two pages hav...

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

not a lot we can do about it apart from get behind him and give him a chance to sort things out.
which I very much hope he does.

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

The level of negativity to this is breathtaking. 1. No-one on here (one potential exception) will have any idea how much MB was involved in the upturn in form either last season or at the start of this. 2. No-one on here will have the slightest notion as to how successful or otherwise his ideas wer...

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

bowen being involved in the sacking and then taking the job looks bad. move smacks of a short term punt with a view to getting their real target in next summer. ill get behind the bloke, but its not filling me with massive hope. having said that, as much as I liked the bloke it shouldn't be too hard...

Re: Next Manager

With Bowen now at odds of 1/12 - that would tell you its a done deal. Nearest is Sherwood at 12s. Tell you what, he must rate himself and got a magic wand because he has put himself under an enormous amount of pressure from the get go. Executioner turned manager rolled into one. Good luck with that...

Re: Next Manager

Keane would probably be ok for a short term fix, but can't seem him being a long term solution. Once the "Martin Allen effect" wears off we'll just end up back here this time next year, if not sooner. No one's gonna want to come here and play for a bully. Hughes would probably be more of ...

Re: Next Manager

Given our last 3 appointments have been men with little to no experience of managing at our level (or at all) - I think we can safely assume they are going to go with someone with extensive experience of the English game at this level or above. We won't be taking a "gamble" on someone lik...

Re: Next Manager

This whole "knows about Championship football" thing is nonsense Stam had absolutely no experience of Championship football and got us to a playoff final, because he played the right system to win matches and caught a lot of teams by surprise that season. It just so happens that he didn't...

Re: Next Manager

hughes would do a job, just don't like him and think his record is suspect hughton a better one same for rowett ainsworth worth a punt just nothing massively inspiring in that list, but we are deluded if we think we deserve or could attract the inspirational right now. whatever happens we cant be in...

Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

This is the same Mark Hughes that got 3 top-10 PL finishes for Blackburn, 8th for Man City (before the oil money really kicked in), 8th for Fulham and Europa League qualification, kept QPR up when they were awful, three 9th placed finishes for Stoke, and then kept Southampton up? .  :lol...

Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

Mark Hughes has only ever managed in the Premier League, am I right? And some of you are immediately turning your nose up... fans of a club who have been battling relegation to League One for years? Some of our fans are hilarious. he's dog shit got a job based on his name alone, done oxf*rd all in ...

Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

I do get the end of the year/give him a chance as it allows someone else to come in and rescue the season. however I'm a bit wary of that. if you brought the right man in now who was able to sort out the defence and make us solid, we could already be midtable by December and ready to actually push f...
